It's currently 8:33 AM, and I'm still not tired (no, I haven't slept yet)... honestly, I should've gone to bed a while ago

I guess I'm just high* after getting rid of that cold/whatever it was... I feel a ton better, at least.

Although I am curious, how long can you average awake before you start feeling the effects?

* Metaphorical high (i.e., glad, happy, powerful), not drug-induced high

Getting high after lack of sleep? Funny, all I get is tired. I'm usually high in the evenings though, so I guess 12-14 hours?

No, from finally not being sick. Sleepiness hasn't kicked in yet.

(Me, I usually last 18, with 6 hours of sleep. After that, things get dodgy.

At 24, I'm a wreck.)

Ohhh...usually I'd get that after the worst of it was over, but it would be curtailed by having to go to school the next day. The last time I was sick at all was 2 years ago though, so I can't really remember.

You should get drug-induced high

Same, although a bit sooner. I can survive full power until around 16 and then things hit a seriously sharp decline. Ick.

I rarely ever get sick anymore. As in, I do occasionally get sick, but then I'll go a LONG time without getting sick again. The last time I was sick was last March, when I had the flu. I had symptoms similar to what you were having, plus my voice was getting screwed up. After I got better, it still took the rest of the month and a week or so for my voice to go completely back to normal.

All throughout this time, my sleeping habits didn't really change. When I finally got better, I wasn't high (as in, happy high, not drug high) or anything, and it was just like any other ordinary day.

I never try to go all night though. I probably only attempt to go 18 hours before forcing myself to quit whatever activity that I'm so involved with and go to sleep.

The longest i've gone before experiencing any bad affects would be about 38 hours. That is, without drugs. I don't sleep much, so I guess that helps.

The longest I've ever gone without sleep was 67 hours. I generally try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night, though

I was awake for 41 hours once, when my insomnia completely denied me sleep for an entire night.

I didn't sleep the night before last, and before that the sleep schedule's been all out of whack what with video game time and quarter/spring break. I shoulda registered for school today but... I took a nap after my doctor visit yesterday. I then slept all night. After waking up this morning and drinking some water, I proceeded to sleep until like 4 this afternoon.

Guess I was pretty tired.

*Holy crap!! A post edit feature!*
I once went 72 hours when I was a kid. Sci-fi had a 72 hour Star Trek marathon.

Last year I had a really bad spot of insomnia and slept about 12 total hours over the course of a week. My roomate finally convinced me to go to the doctor when I ripped the doorbell out of the wall and nearly killed a neigbor with it for ringing the doorbell at 4am when I had finally fallen asleep. Now I take pills for a night or two every few months or so when it gets bad.

I think the longest I've gone without sleep is at least 21 hours. I tried to stay awake longer but I couldn't.

I lose track of time during my "high". I usually go to sleep on command.

Even though my experience wasn't something one would conventionally hate, I felt awful after using that green piss-licorice flavored Nyquil.

Several years ago I had a cold from hell during my Christmas break. My sister said she felt bad for me, my nose was running like a faucet. I shoved toilet paper up my nostrils (dumb idea) and took 2 spoonfuls of that gunk around 4pm. My sister said, "That's it, you need to go to bed."

I slept for what felt like 30 minutes of itching my face like I had the plague or something, I was half-awake the whole time and woke up with a headache and a horrible taste in my mouth. It felt like someone shoved a rock up my nose even after I removed the toilet paper. My eyes burned since I hadn't slept well. It was already 11pm, dark and dreary outside and my sister was crashed out on the couch with MTV on the television at a low volume.

I felt some irrational depression, not because my life seemed bad but because I was so sick and the hours flew by. I stayed up watching the Goonies and other things on tv. Then I went back to sleep around 3-ish.

The night I sat out for Wii I didn't sleep. So thats 10am(Nov 18)-11am(Nov 19)...ya I crashed after I played Zelda for a few minutes. So I Think 25 hours is probably my longest unless I'm forgetting something.

I haven't tried staying up for more than 24 hours before. I usually crash out somewhere around a little less than 24 hours before finally crashing out.

Normally I don't get "high" like that unless I'm at a friend's house or have drunk a lot of cokes. Anyways I thought medicine was supposed to make you sleepy not "high"?

I get a very high feeling when I don't sleep. I giggle at EVERYTHING. It's so odd.
