Oh great. Another one of Arbe's threads.
That's what I was thinking when I saw this thread. But I let it stew for a little to see what came of it, and the people actually responded in the affirmative.

It makes sense though.

With the advent of the two major updates to this board (Lazy Shell Forum and Front Page) it does need to be reoriented towards the masses, but more importantly, it needs to appeal to new users.

I'm all for it!

Board II is in fact more boring than board2. Ever get that roman numerals lecture in school? I had it in math class and it made me damn appreciative of the numbering system we use today. Even outside of math applications, "2" is much more appealing to this kind of thing than "II".

You guys ever try to hack in roman numerals? Didn't think so.

You could wipe the entire site tomorrow and make this a discussion board for sock puppet enthusiasts and it would still work. It's versatile.

You put a new name to a vote and every idiot on here is going to suggest some obnoxious name from some flavor-of-the-week anime that represents a tiny portion of what the board really offers. Besides, there's a bit of interesting history to it anyway that already has more substance than calling it "Luigi's Kafuka Board DX Remix" or something. Just leave it as is!

board2 really doesn't mean anything, like PSlugworth said. Thing is, it's so vague as it is, and I believe we can do better. It doesn't really have to mean anything particularly related to what we do in here, but we really gotta get ourselves away from this glorious lack of a proper noun name we have here.

How about we just go with "kafuka" like the rest of the place? It's less confusing, helpful in Google, and it just matches with everything else.

Why?

Well first of all, this is what I used to view of this board.
When I use to got to smwc back a while ago, I looked in the links section. The name "board2" makes it look like a side-kick to that website and I'm sure you wouldn't want that .

So yeah, Board2, side kick of smwc is lame.
