I'm here because I know most of the people here, I don't really hang around because there are interesting topics or anything, it's just my .. internet social circle, I guess. Fun things happen on the board, but yes, most of it is in IRC, as everyone and their grandma has pointed out 1000 times.

Oh, I also like making sarcastic posts that piss people off sometimes. But who doesn't?

Came for the SMW hacking. Stuck around first for the SMW hacking, then for the social interaction, then out of a sense of duty/hardheadedness, now for the social interaction again.

At some point into the stick-around-because-leaving-would-be-admitting-defeat part of it, I guess I also enjoyed this whole planning/scheming/running things/manipulating people, in a way, aspect of it.

Same for me too. Basically back in October 2007, I felt like looking into how someone could make their own game. I was pointed in the direction of Game Maker, so I tried to use the SMB3 game engine that was made for it. However, the physics just didn't feel the same for me. After a little more digging, I discovered the ROM hacking world with this board being one of the first places I stumbled upon. I gave SMB3 Workshop a try, but didn't know about overwriting and that so I got discouraged and didn't know what to do. I soon (well actually, later) came into contact with Googie, who was extremely nice and helped me understand what I was doing wrong so then I would be able to fix it. I registered on here a couple of months later, figuring that if things worked out, ROM hacking would eventually become a hobby of mine.

I guess in short, I'm here because it's a connection to the ROM hacking community, and it's interesting to see the new projects being worked on, and once in a while someone is generous enough to post useful data that helps out everyone.

To state the truth, I came back to Board2 because of the latest "Arbe hacking" on smwcentral. Everyone took it as a joke and thought it was funny, but now those people are perma-banned. I'll stay here until that situation is taken care of. Then, depending on my experience here, stay for a little longer or possibly make this another of my main sites...
