that's the only plasma beam I know of. It's good, but what about the phazon beam from the same game? now THAT nukes

More like melts and mutates. Besides, you only get to use it once. I personally like the Plasma beam more, then the wave

. Also, what ever happened to that Spazer weapon? It was alright xD.

Spazer? In Metroid Prime? No idea whatchu talkin' bout there, Willis. I remember power beam, ice beam, wave beam, plasma beam, and their respective missile combos.

The Spazer beam was in Super Metroid. When you shot it, it spread out vertically into three shots, and covered more ground along with being more powerful. The enemy hitbox was all three, but the physical hitbox was only on the middle one.

GK, spoiler that post. >=o 'Sides, I already posted that very weapon.

Also, I love the AR2 from Half Life 2. Seriously, that thing packs a punch. Dishing out the equivalent of 8 crowbar hits in 10 shots in a period of 1 or 2 seconds sure does the job. Also...COMBINE ENERGY BALLS AHAHAHAHAHA BOUNCE DISINTEGRATE BOUNCE DISINTEGRATE BOUNCE DISINTEGRATE

Another weapon in my favorites list is the machinegun from the Contra series. That thing fires so many bullets, hell! You could just run through the entire stage without getting killed if you're skilled enough!

The Nemesis from Cave Story definitely is on my list, shitting out the most damage in a given time if is given its chance. Too bad it gets worse as it levels up.

As far as Metroid's weapons are concerned, I've always found the Screw Attack to be several times better than any of the beams. Excluding bosses, I can't think of more than five enemies that aren't OHKOed by it (in each of the 2D titles, at least).

Technically speaking, the Level 2 Blade has the highest DPS in the game.

No, the machinegun is the one that spits out an unholy amount of bullets in a stream. The spread gun is the one that fires an unholy amount in a cone shaped formation.
