I'm not sure that I'd ever give blood, anyway, although I wouldn't dislike it. I'm O+. I'm not sure if O+ blood is any less useful than O-. Anyway, half the family is O+ and half is O-... I don't think there's anyone in this family who has a blood type other than O. It's a lot easier to keep track of, anyway, not that there's any need to. |

Last time I gave they sent me a card saying I was AB... pos I think. But that can't be right. My dad always tokd me I was O pos... and he's O pos. I think they fucked up.
And come on guys. Needles aren't bad. Sure, I don't like having them in my arm a whole lot, but they don't really hurt. I used to give plasma twice a week for $ back in the days when all I had to worry about was a little bit of money for food. If the syringes were shaped like spiders or something, then I'd be afraid of them. But a needle? As long as the nurse or technician knows what they're doing, the needle isn't gonna hurt you. Look away during the stick and then talk or read or watch tv while you give. If I can let a spider crawl on me (I admit I cried and whimpered pathetically) then you guys can give a pint of blood. They won't mind if you cry =P |

We're having a blood drive at CCSN in a few days (March 29th or so). I might go since it's on a Monday and I have nothing better to do, as long as my allergies don't drive me nuts. 
Although I really wouldn't mind if they gave you a gift for coming, because I really like those odd squeeze-balls they occasionally give out

Last time I went they gave me a little beanbag blood drop with arms, legs, and a smile.
I used him for a while as an indoor baseball before I ripped him open to play with his plastic bead guts. |

A poll on blood type sounds good right about now.
I think that I have A type, but I'm not sure if its + or -. Three formulas to remember; AB > A > O AB > B > O + > - You have to be at or above the level to avoid death. You cannot cross meters 1 and 2. I know you know that, but I'm just saying. Q: Even if you have AB, if it's AB- and you take O+, is that lethal? |

I think if your blood is negative you can only take negative blood, but if your blood is positive you can take either type of blood, which makes negative blood more "valuable". Negative mothers often have problems when they are carrying positive children, for instance. |

I'd like to donate some of it, but I think I need to be 18 years old for it to be legal.

Sophie: Yeah. It's kind of a double edged sword, since AB+ can recieve all but give to only one group, but O- can give to all but recieve only one... Now I wonder, what type most people would want to be, heh. It's an interesting idea to discuss, I believe. (Donator or recipient? Hm.) ____________________ I dealt with it. |
