I'm sure plenty of people expected this, but now it appears to be true. Sonic USA and Sonic Japan are not the greatest friends, and Team Sonic doesn't like making Sonic games anymore, and thus their work suffers. Who'da thunk it? ____________________ ひらがなでかきました. |

Hah, what's awesome is when he basically describes Sonic: Unleashed. Because back when it was originally posted, people probably took it as an absurd claim, never expecting it to turn in to an absurd game. |

Well, this explains the crap quality of the recent games. The question is, what will happen to the Sonic franchise in the US if Sonic Team USA goes down the toilet? ____________________ "That's your 'ultimate attack'? Was there anything good at all in the Sonic franchise wise after Genesis? ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Ailure Sonic adventure 1 and 2 were actually good games, not up to the genesis days but definitely worth playing. And the advance/DS games were rather good too. But aside from that nothing... |

Sonic CD was for the add-on for Genesis/Mega Drive, that doesn't really count as a separate system.
Also I thought Sonic Adventure blew ass. The GBA/DS games are pretty good, but not up to the original series' quality. |

Posted by chungy I dunno, it was also for PC, so I mean I guess it technically counts. I've only played the PC version, but I thought it was pretty top notch. |

The best thing to happen to Sonic was emulation, so we can see him in his original form, unblemished by this horrible 21st century. And for the sake of it, let's just try to blow of the late 90s, Limp Bizket and all. |

I played SA1 on Dreamcast when I was a kid. I hated it. It confused me, because it was too much of a jump. I had just got a 64 when the Dreamcast came out. I'd yet to play a Playstation One. Super Nintendo and Genesis and DOS were what I knew. It just didn't sink in that 3D games could be good until I played Super Mario 64 at a friend's house (I only had a few N64 games). I got around to SA2 on the Gamecube. I remember it warmly for beating that weird dino monster in space at the end as a gold glowing weirdo. And there was that kicking song "LIVE AND LEARN", best described as "music you listen to while putting on socks".
I haven't bothered playing to completion any Sonic game since SA2. I rented Heroes. I tried the Secret Rings. I refuse to touch any of the other slime that has been regurgitated into a disc drive. The image projected on the screen are particle of vomit and blood from the guts of Sonic Team being splattered on your television. This is what Sega sold to you. They hate you. They hate Sonic. They're taking an image and squeezing it's innards into is fine a pulp as possible - and they're finally dripping the last drops out of an otherwise dessicated anthropomorphic hedgehog corpse. |

Posted by Godot Buggy, awful controls, awful camera, uninspired and boring gameplay, bad story, annoying voices, shitty ideas to play as other characters than sonic. Need I go on? |

Sonic Adventure 2 wasn't that bad though.
It had decent controls, the camera was okay save for spots where you can force it to break, and the only character I disliked playing as was Tails. I had lots of fun as Eggman. The chao were great too, and despite these cute creatures, it manages to be the most mature Sonic game in my opinion. Balancing the fun of the old games with the edgyness of the new ones... if you can even call it edgyness. And really, who do you prefer, the SA voice actors, or the 4kids ones? ____________________ |

SA2 had a glitch in it that was rather funny. In Final Rush, near the end of the first segment when you're approachign the cannon bore and the path slopes downwards gravitationally, you can jump off and fall waaaayyy down, landing on a pair of rails about halfway down the cannon. if you can land it, you can cut off a huge chunk of the level there.
