Some graphic designer were not happy with the sprites I did for you.

Therefore I have done Kingman without any dithering,

And here those who criticised me.

For the overall style it would be better, to use the new ones.

As I said I've got one more request but this one will be quite simply.
I some tilesets for one from Cossack levels. I mean first level will be train level (in Ninja Gaiden 2 style). I've got almost all tilesets but i need tileset for locomotive (or front of train).

Here's picture how this level looks like in Ninja Gaiden

Also It would be great to make icy background for this level.

PS: I almost put King Man sprites into ROM. Soon I'll show how they work in game.

I see. However due my recent motivation I may or may not do a request right now.
Still, I have a few suggestions for you( and others).
-rip graphics from other games.
By 8bit graphics you can use them straight in your hack. 16bit graphics need some more work though, as you have to reduce the colour count.

-ask other artists.
Just now my motivation is low, because real life can be quite a stressing affair, if you know what I mean. In that case ask other persons who can do graphics as well. If they have already some good graphics at hand, ask for the permission to use them along to mention/honour him in the credits.
DeviantArt, Spriter' Resource and Sprite.INC has many artists who can help you.

-try it for yourself.
While it may appear difficult, it just takes up some time to understand how it works. It is best to go to a forum where you can gain a lot of feedback. I recommend the Spriter' Resource and Sprite.INC.
Also here a little guide for pixel art.
Link to guide

When I get the motivation back I will inform you. Until then you have to help yourself.

Thanatos, thank you for inspiring me to finally get off my lazy ass and do this. Really.

I'd like to humbly request that you and pixel artists like you stop calling four color graphics "8-bit". 8-bit graphics would be up to 256 colors. What you're talking about is "2-bit" and "4-bit" respectively.

Now, I know damn well why people call it "8-bit" graphics -- it's because the system the graphics are from is 8-bit, isn't it? Well, the SNES was a 16-bit machine, and as anyone who has looked into editing the status bar in SMW can tell you, it too had a four-color mode -- SMW's status bar, and that of endless other games, was as 2-bit as the NES's graphics were.

So please, if you can, stop conflating the graphical bitdepth and that of the machines those graphics are used on.

For quick reference, here's a handy list:
* Two colors, one bit.
* Four colors, two bits.
* Eight, three bits.
* Sixteen, four bits.
* 256, eight.
* Highcolor or thousands (no longer uses a palette), 16 or 24 bit.
* Truecolor or millions, 32 bit.

Even though you are correct, it is an near impossible task to persuade all the other graphic designers to use the other term.

Also, if we are going to use the other terms now, we might confuse all the others. Most people, me included orientate on the game systems like NES, which utilise these amount of colours.

Therefore we say 8bit colours, because they are used in that 8bit system.

I never said I wanted to persuade all the others. Just you and others I know.

I'd be happy with a compromise of "four colors" though.

How about 1 Byte / 4 Bit Graphics.
Simple enough right?

The amount of bytes is sorta implied by the amount of bits, actually.

What's nice about being the artist is that all you really need to know is the amount of colors you can use, less so the actual format it's stored in. For NES or GBC graphics, you'd commission an artist to draw, say, player graphics in three colors tops. There's really no need to bother specifying you want it in, say, "2BPP planar", especially if the hacker who asked for the sprites recieves them in, for example, PNG.

Back in the olden days, that stuff mattered. These days? Not so much.

I could actually use a spriter for something. I'm modifying Megaman the Wily Wars to include Protoman and Bass as playable characters (I'll handle any required programming changes later on). I've done most of Protoman's gfx, which was very time consuming, but Bass is going to be a little more challenging (he has some frames that are completely different from Megaman's and Protoman's). I'm also working on my Editor for this game, and I want to spend as much time on that as I can, so people don't have to wait too much longer for it. I still have to add Protoman's cape and shield, but I'll do that myself. What would be really helpful is if I can get some assistance on Bass' gfx.

Here are some various frames of Protoman's gfx for reference:
.
All 16 colors of the Genesis palette line can be used, but only 7 colors can be changed without causing problems (common sprites such as item revivers, energy tanks, question containers, etc., use Megaman's palette).
If anyone would like to take this on, I'll provide all of Megaman's Gfx already ripped from the game (and what I have done of Protoman's if you want; should be all but 4 frames).

The 7 colors pointed out below are the ones that can be changed, and as you can see I had to change the way Protoman's palette works because he has 2 of the same colors in his head and body (one being next to white and unchanged), so I had to use only 5 colors that change with his weapon in his body rather than 6 like Megaman has (I still used the darkest grey as a 6th color in his body because it's really not noticeable when his weapon changes).

So that's about it, any help that I can get with Bass would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Please can you make a 8-bit (8x16 pixels) 4-Frame Door for my SMB2 Hack?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunatly, my motivation to do graphics is still at 0% and my low self esteem will keep it to my own disinterest down at that level for a long time.
Iam sorry but you will have to look for other artists.
