Hello, i`m begining to make a new "try file", with the aim, to create two or better 3 levels, maybe more, where you have to fight many opponents and one boss awaits you at the end of each stage. Mostly, everything works well, but my problem is, that the enemys sometimes lose their events. Sometimes they are spawning without events and sometimes it works. It seems like chaotic behavior. In the editor and free mode the events are working well.

Has anyone any idea about it, or what could it cause ?

(i`m using pos, repeat/loop, limit and the standart, create commands)

I guess, that it is only a very simple mistake, but i can`t find it even out.
(i`m not a good coder, my system: try and error mostly)

*i removed the old ver. and displaced it by a newer variant - better, but still the same problems + some other...

Interesting: this is one of the same problems I'm having with Project G. I think it's the problems with the Deploy Core that's causing the symptoms that you describe to happen to my Try file.

That said, I'd love to help out. I'm going to download your Try folder and have a look. Give me a few days to torture it for a bit, and I'll make some improvements. If you can get your email address, I'll send you both my Try files: the old Project G where I was concerned with building waves and bosses, and the new Project G, version 0.008, where I started building battle rankings and fooled around a lot with custom graphics and sound. The new Project G Try files is pretty well documented, and it might help give you some ideas.

Since Project G is kind of stalled, I'd be glad to sign on to your project instead and hopefully see it through to completion, if you'll have me. Meantime, I'll take a look at what you did, bash it around in game and out for a while, and come back with some suggested improvements and fixes, if that's okay.

I noticed something familiar while I was playing against 4 Reflective Fighters in 'select' mode, freeplay in Fraxy. Some of the fighters' plates didn't work at all! I think Fraxy treats multiple enemies in some odd index number format, causing events to link to the wrong part.

I'm still diagnosing the problem. I'm going to try to play the Try in version 20080814, which appears to me to be the most recent bug-free version. If Positron Stormcaliber works under 20080814, I'll post that information here. If it doesn't, I'll try to pare down the enemies you've built until the Try works properly.

Give me a few days until after the holidays and I'll have the information for you. And yes, I still have a copy of 20080814 so I can continue to develop my own Try files without this problem cropping up so I can continue to test the Try accurately.

Also, nutman, if you could be so kind as to send me the Reflective Fighter, I'll test that under 20080814's Freeplay mode to see if that problem disappears there, too.

Hey, why not ? Aye Zax, sign in and let`s try to make a quality mod. I`m curios about it. My ideas up to now, are the following: I want to make a classic like shooter with many different small enemies, mid bosses and bad ass big bosses.
(Some inspirations i get, comes from raiden 2 or dodonpachi and similar stuff - i like this direction. Bizarre new ideas are also welcome.)
I invite you, to tell me your own ideas and i`m looking forward to see your current project G.

Nutman i will take a look at your reflictive fighters.

Okay, plasma, I'm sending you the old Project G file since I don't have the new one on my thumb drive at the moment. That'll be sent next week, hopefully with updated music.

Nutman, I'm going to plug the reflective fighter into 20080814 and see whether all of the reflective plates function with multiple respawns. If so, then the Deploy Core bug I found may in fact be something much bigger. If that's the case, then mon really needs to know about this.

It appears that the first fighter to spawn is fine, and the second fails to function.

Fighting against 2 reflective fighters is enough to make weird stuff happen.

Reflective Fighter Testing

I tested the Reflective Fighter. Here's how I did it:
* I realized that Notify Status capabilities didn't start until 20080825, so I tested it under 20080825b. I found that yes, the notify events even then didn't run in Free Play mode properly. Only one fighter spawned with the Notify Status events intact.
* I then recreated the Reflective Fighter with fewer parts so I could get more of them to spawn at a time. I found out that another fighter would spawn with the Notify Status, but only when the first one with the events active was destroyed. All other fighters spawned did not have the events active at all. I'm doing more research to determine how far this goes. If my suspicion is correct, this is related to the Deploy Core bug I discovered a while ago, and it's never been fixed since 20080825.
* What this also means if I'm right, is that events for all FRAXY creations are unstable after 20080814.

I`ve also seen this problem on the reflective fighters, but have no further additions here.
