Last view: 5493 days 		Well I was thinking and, since 08' is coming to an end soon, what's left of the fraxy community should have some sort of Boss of the Year award or something. I don't know, maybe we could nominate bosses and have people vote on them in a poll. . . Like, most bizarre boss or most creative or most epic.

It's just we haven't done any kind of activity that involved the entire fraxy community, in like decades. This is just an idea so, what do you guys think?

If you want to volunteer to be a judge for this, then post saying so.

I voteth "YES" because I agree; we don't have enough FRAXY spirit. I'd actually put some time into something for something like that.

Also, if it fails due to lack of judges (Or judge input), I'd be willing to sit the competition out to be a judge.

Well, I think we should include all the ToM bosses. And maybe allow people to have one extra entry, if they never entered a ToM boss.

How about for criteria, we have the original score of the boss + a new score (New score doubled if it wasn't in a ToM competition)

And have the creators write a paragraph or so about a story to their boss? <-Idea

I think looks should be more than usual for these ones.

Also, maybe have a complexity score.
(how about event = bonus point?)

These are just some ideas.

Last view: 5493 days 		Since it seems like many want to do this, I think the first order of buisiness should be getting judges to choose the boss nominee's.

But before the nominee's are chosen the users should get to enter their bosses in, or if the user isn't able to be contacted the judges can just nominate their boss. Again this is just an idea.

I agree and also I'd like to add that we could do that same thing but in different catagories. And if this is what we're doing this is basically how it'd look like.

Definitely liking the idea. We need some rallying in this community! As I was a TotM judge, I'll gladly help this along by being a judge, and I bet Screature and possibly NK would also be happy to help.

"PAI" Boss? Wouldn't that just be a category of my bosses then? Remember, I never did anything with other people's bosses like you did with your Angelos and Atomic with the ][nfected.

One last quick suggestion:
maybe have small, creator specific categories? not for everyone, of course. That would be far too much work. I mean, people could nominate boss creators (or maybe we could use the judges or something), and people could vote on which boss of theirs they liked best. Then again, that could be tough if it was ALL bosses, espicially because Atomic would almost definitely be one of them (not a problem, of course), and he has lord-knows how many bosses! haha

Anyways, about the boss specific to the creators. That sounds like a great catagory, and it will be a bit easier to choose one of Atomic's bosses since their only bosses of 08'. But if it was "Best boss of all time" then yeah it would be tough to choose.

EDIT: But then again, I just checked and most of his bosses are mostly 08', if I'm not mistaken. So disregard what I just said.

I think Komaru would be a good judge.

Now that we have 2-ish judges, of course we should be getting more, but we should also start planning this all out, like what dictates a boss being in a certain category or not.

I feel like we should do several categroies (I'm thinking similar to X-Play's year re-cap thing), like Most Original Boss, Best Looking Boss, Most Frantic Boss, etc. And the winner from each category could be entered into the running for Boss of the Year. This is gonna be tough, seeing as we don't have an easy way for people to all actively be together/have a voting system (though I thought some user named Sukasa was in the process of making a judging .php prior to the Generic Board move).

Probably the best way of going about this would be to make an entire sub-forum for the contest, and threads specific to each category, where people can reccomend bosses. If the boss gets 2 seconds, it's in the running for that category. Once we have all the categories sorted out, we should set up a time for all the judges to meet in a private IRC room to discuss who wins each category. Then I (or any of the other judges) could make a youtube video (or a couple) that goes through all the categories, mentions all the bosses and creators, declares the winners, gives congradulations, etc. And then finally announces the Boss of the Year in the End.

To avoid any biases, judges should probably not be allowed to have their bosses in the running. Or, to balance that, we can have the judge who created a boss that gets in not have influence on the discussion of wether or not that boss wins the category. Then again, that could all get complicated.

I like the categories idea. Having the bosses judged on what they are supposed to be is a good idea. I think that judging all the bosses off of the same scoresheet is a bad idea, because the bosses do different things. So we should definitely have different categories for the bosses to be in.

A sub-forum would be nice. keeps everything organized.

My real question is how do you score the top bosses of all the bosses from different categories? Because the entire system before that is dependent on judging bosses based off of what the bosses were intended to be judged on, and how do you judge them all the same?

I think you mean in the Boss of the Year category... I was thinking of doing this all something like G-Phoria and other similar awards type things. For the best boss, each judge would just vote on their favorite of the 5 (at most, I'm thinking 10-15ish) bosses that won in the other categories.
