The original, although I suppose you can include how you found this incarnation.
I found it through this guy who was making a SMW hack. He linked to a thread advertising his hack on Acmlmboard. I kinda got interested into ROM hacking this way. I believe I joined at the about same time Bloodstar did, late '03 or early '04, I don't quite remember. I never really posted much, but I was a heavy lurker and was fascinated with ROM hacking (what, the idea was new to me at the time. I do tend to be a late follower with holy crap e-trends). As far as board2, I kind of, erm, cheated -- I knew about the "acmlm.no-ip.org" domain name, and knew Xk was going to be uploading the board to /board/ since I was watching in the IRC channel, so I just put two and two together, and bam, it worked. 
Hopefully this'll turn out to be a somewhat interesting topic... |

You can blame Kirbynite.
I was a member of his Acmlmboard based messageboard called Grape Gardens. I accidently clicked on the link he had at the bottom of the index page and arrived at Milly's. I lurked for a month then joined on Arpil 14 03. As for this one, irc basically. |

Wow, I'm not even sure how I found it... it was the third incarnation, and I think I bumped into it a few times after learning about Lunar Magic and SMW hacking, so eventually I decided to join it. Something like that. |

I was downloading random SNES hacks (mostly SMW) off Zophar's. One of them had a shout-out to the board in the first level. Board 1 incarnation 3: I was there when it happened, man. I remember. Board 2: IRC. |

I found the previous incarnation (as well as romhacks) through a GameFAQs thread where Euclid was advertising PW. I lurked for awhile, looking only at romhack threads, and later made an account when I got sick of the majority of GF forumgoers. My thought was "Hey a no-idiots-tolerated forum! Win!" |

Not the original, but the second incarnation: YD dragged me over. I was extremely inactive for the first year or so, and then my activity asploded. I stayed active on the next reincarnation, too.

When I first got my computer in 2001 I didn't know much about computers and the internet. Anyway, one day I was on google and I secrched for Super Mario Bros. 3 images. One of the images I saw was strange and obviously not from the actual game (it was Strange Super Mario Bros 3). I clicked the image and t took me to Acmlm's site and from there I found the board and discovered ROM hacking. If it wasn't for Acmlm I wouldn't be here nor would I even know what a ROM is. |

Here's a name from the past: Foom.
He had a messageboard that I was on (we live in the same town, etc yada yada yada), and it eventually went down the tubes. I joined up here and posted sparingly until Jesper deleted everyone's account. After I was born again, the post activity skyrocketed. |

I found this one some time ago browsing random threads in the original, but I didn't register... I think...
The other board was found back in 2003-04, half of the times I searched for anything I saw the board. After may times looking at it I started to visit it regulary (as a guest), watching the progress of some hacks there... I was in love with a girl who made her own Pokemon, and I wanted to see if I could put her Pokemon somewhere in Sapphire. Didn't know it was called hacking at the time, but eventually I did and I found my way to Acmlm.

I'm not quite sure when I've found it.. I think it was only a 3/4 year ago or something.
I think I followed a link from another emulation-related site (someone was linking to the Mario 64 hacking thread). IRC did the trick for me with this board. |
