Only 32 hours left as of this posting

I never played it, but wanted to, so I've bought it. Had hell of a time getting to run it in wine, though CrossOver Games runs it.

I'm seriously an idiot for buying hard copies of Half-Life and all its expansions instead of using Steam. I just have a thing for being able to hold the box in my hands, get the manual, etc, even if it cost a bit more than $0.98...

But Half-Life is worth it at any price - and Half-Life 2 is probably the best FPS ever made.

Hmm, I do have the Source version of this game. But I kind of want to buy it only so i can run any Half Life 1 based mods. Unfortunately I don't have a credit card, and I used to have 2.60 USD on my paypal account... but I used that for buying Audiosurf the other week.

And I don't mind buying it through steam anyway. Infact, I bought my sister the boxed version of Orange Box (and before that, I bought HL2 in retail). Believe me, you don't miss anything boxwise... at least when it comes to software from Valve themself.

And put it this way, Steam is a mixed blessing for me. I do prefer buying boxed games if it's not a steam-only game, but admittedly with the game forcing me to have the CD in the drive... it's kinda annoying (and I'm not a fan of no-cd cracks).

The deal should be over by now, even though the site still shows it for 98¢. Anyway, I've played a little of it (through Unforeseen Consequences), seems ok.

I think I'm just a sucker for deals like this, but heh. I'd rather have a boxed copy than Steam, and I'll probably get one some day if I enjoy the game.

Half life is pretty dam sexy, easy though. i did a no-death run on the first one and on hl2: episode 1.

Yes that includes snark pit.
