I know exactly what Retrorain is thinking as I created this ASM all night about 7 hours staring in my computer while listening to my music.

I don't actually create Hatsume Miku. I borrowed her graphics from Rockman 2. I bet you guys might want her in your hack and make custom levels at least.

This idea is almost being finished and ready for release in Mediafire's uploader or my .t35.com uploader or either this board's uploader and I'm going to start putting the ASM patches link at Mediafire in my signature so you can always visit.

The code currently has technical difficulties and will be fixed eventually.

1] Every time I press start in the weapon menu and back, it's air meter resets back to $9C.

2] When a player dies, it's air meter should be restarted when it inits back in the same level with the water TSA attribute. Not empty.

3] If possible, the air meter should move it's X position to $20 or $30. However at $10, you can still see the air meter while your weapons excluding the rush marine (buggy) are still depleted each use.

I'm going to do the same ASM coding for Mega Man II and a possible Mega Man V. I never actually hacked MM5 in my entire life.

Well that sux, but I think if sombody grew some fuckin balls to do that RCR2 hack, it would be the shit. I mean if you did the hack, i was thinking more along the lines of new scenery and/or music, or music used in other nekketsu titles. it would be lame if it was just new text and characters.

but thats what this thread is for right? new and innovative ideas...

to me, it dont matter what u do with megaman and mario gams anymore...everybody and theyre mom has made a hack of those....its old. i dont see how people can obsess over SMW hacks...


Maybe Game Maker can chef up your RCR2 idea, I gotta use that program. ^^,

Shoot! I was so close. I have everything right except the blinking part is the problem. This idea is now 90% completed and that 1 part needs to be fixed. And the Rush Marine drains faster underwater while you ride it in water (And before water) areas which is somewhat buggy.

I have uploaded the patch and ready to use. Source code included. Download

If anyone knows to fix the code properly, please feel free to do so.


I recently found the damage code but it will take a while to code it right and write down the source code. I'll make a re-release for it. For now, I'm deleting the file.

I have other ASM ideas in my to do list
- Breath Meter Code for Mega Man II
- Weapon Select for Mega Man 1. (Yay, no more pause cheating)
- Instank Kill Spikes for Super Mario All-Stars in all mushroom levels (SMB1).

I remember people finding Red Mario Bros. 3 annoying cause alotta people's eyes were bleeding back in 2005. It'll be cool if someone took the levels, graphics, maps and put 'em into a fresh SMB3 ROM cause the level designs are pretty cool. Here's a video by Quick Curly...

Just starting out but hoping to do a hack of either WCW Wrestlemania (NES) or WWF Super Wrestlemania (SNES)

I plan to hack the graphics and text to make the game feature the fictional wrestlers from the World Wrestling Xistence e-fed (www.wwxonline.com) as opposed to WWF wrestlers. After I am finished will get a buddy who is a pro with flash to put the game up on the website for anyone to play. (similar to nintendo8.com)

If anyone knows how to do this, you're help would be greatly appreciated.

Cool, that's the idea I would be following. I would think about doing WWF No Mercy for Nintendo 64 with fictional characters but 3D graphics is not my style.

I was thinking about this fellas, using the overhead view sprites of Bionic Commando and putting 'em into Ikari Warriors 2. I know the game is slow paced with the text, making the text faster and prolly the whole game faster would make it a better hack?

A freakin awesome AsM idea is to have a new bonus game in Super SMB3. It'll be like a draw in the West or themed on the world you're in. Mario should draw his gun before the Koopa Kid does, and they have to do this 3 or 4 times. It's risk, if you make it you get a certain number of lives, if you don't you lose some, but if you entered the game as Super Mario, then you come out the same. Maybe there'd be a chest at the end of some of them, or none, and if there's none, then you get 2 or more 1-Ups. Neat...

The one thing I want is someone to hack Mega Man: Wily Wars to make it more like the NES versions. Make it faster (gameplay and music), get rid of all the slowdown, and just make it good.

This isn't really a hack idea, but more of a game idea. But I guess you could turn it into a hack idea if you were really skillful.

Pokémon: Cold Ice
Pokémon: Hot Fire

These would be remixes of FireRed and LeafGreen, in which they would be more like the TV show (much like Pokémon Yellow was, only taken further), and they would implement weather and seasonal effects, similar to The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.

If it is snowing, you can catch ice Pokémon, and if it is summer, you can catch water Pokémon, like Squirtle and Magikarp. And as I said, the game we be a lot more like the TV show. It would have a few more scripted events, and the Pokédex system would be better (much like the new one in Heart Gold and Soul Silver). And the routes would be slightly different, and the Pokémon would be slightly altered in grassy areas, and the trainer battles would be smarter (they would withdraw their Pokémon mid-battle, use more potions on their Pokémon, etc.).

I think this would be a neat idea if Nintendo went and made a game like this.

I got a brilliant idea while I was playing Rockman X. You know that one NES-Controller is limited to 8 buttens, which limitates the use of certain gimmicks. However many forgot or didn´t cared, that many emulators also support the 2nd, the 3rd and the 4th controller, so we can make use of them for more buttens. A SNES controller has 14 buttens, but with the 2nd controller of the NES, we get the access of 16 buttens.
Now what do you think? Rockman 3 had some cool gimmicks like that Invincibility and Moonjump gimmick.
However in that way, a dash butten can be enabled and of course weapon change buttens and a secondary weapon if you wish.

I've got an idea for a new SMB3 enemy, or even possibly a SMW sprite.


Anyone remember this guy?

Those black spiny ball thingies look similar to the ones that lakitu throws down. How about when this guy throws them and it hits something they turn into black spinies that are "harder" and more aggressive than the red ones? They could move faster and possibly jump a couple of blocks high when they hit something. You could also adjust the projectile of the egg that gets thrown so they arc towards the ground slowly...


Looks like you're just about ready to implement that. I was also thinking of having the Red Goomba hop like he does, and instead of a higher hop, he'd leap towards Mario. I was also thinking about a banana peel, if Mario steps on it, he'd slide and couldn't stop till he hits a wall. If he hit's enemies, then he'd get hurt and keep sliding, or if he hits lava, he'll die.

Air Mario would make him jump higher and would make his run-meter fill up faster. He'd be in a white suit.

Maybe someone could press start, select, and would be able to open up their inventory?

I'd really like to implement that, but I just don't have the necessary ASM skills to accomplish this yet. I really want to get into sprite hacking, but it's beyond my abilities as of late.

I also want to complete an ASM hack of a world 8 koopa kid. Fix his graphics. It seems to function, it just needs to work graphically and with my world order hack, go from world 8 to world 4 or whatever.

That is what happened when I put the World 4 Ship Boss Room in World 8, then Mario went to World 9 and got a crash item. Your world order thing is what DahrkDaiz used in Mario Adventure! You're getting there!


A good hack idea would to have a hack called Pest Control. Mario would have to kill all of the enemies in a level. Either there would be only a few ? blocks with items inside a level, or Mario could get a treasure chest at the end of some levels with a mushroom inside, then levels later a flower, etc; or Mario would be able to reach the few Toad Houses with said items.

I'm interested in Genesis hacking right now. There are 2 games that I want to hack. Mortal Kombat and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Both games are great, and here is what I want to do to them:

Mortal Kombat

Tentative hack title name:

Mortal Kombat: Klassic Extended Edition

- Each character has an extra fatality that is brand new (total of 2 fatalites)
- Reptile is playable with a hidden code
- Reptile has 2 fatalities
- More blood
- You can play the outdoor stages in the opposite daytime if you wish (for example, the pit stage in the daytime, simple palette changes)

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

Tentative hack title name:

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - Extra Flavor

This game is very fun and can be addictive, but I think it is too short.

- Add 8 more stages for a total of 20 stages.
- I was surprised that Sonic didn't make a cameo appearance in this game at all. I would like to fix that. You can battle Sonic also.
- Palette changes.
- Possible different scenary changes.
- Another music soundtrack for some of the new stages.
