Two days ago, I seemed to get this runny-nose-stuffed up feeling, and blargh. I figured it was just some minor allergies...

Then yesterday I wake up, and it's a lot worse; sneezing hurts like hell and my nose simply doesn't stop running, leaving me with only two hours of sleep...

Today I got up to coughing and sneezing again, but even better, swallowing is painful... I have a horrible headache now too

I get sick very, very rarely, but when I do, it packs a punch

Heh, I used to be that way.

Now whenever I'm sick it's just usually a one-day deal. >> I'm thankful for that though, as missing a few days can be a quite fatal for me with study... :/

Don't take medicine unless it's really that bad. Medicine doesn't allow your body to build up immunities.

During cold-like symptoms, don't breathe in through your nose too hard or you'll produce more moisture in your sinuses and clog up your throat.

Instead, when you feel a slight runniness coming down, breathe in gently to dry your nose. Keep doing that for about 5 minutes or more to dry. Once it's all dry you should feel much better.

If it's really bad, take a hot rag, lie down and put it on your face. Just relax, it'll soothe your nose and keep irritation from setting in. If the towel gets cold, rinse it in hot soapy water again and repeat.

Avoid areas where alot of weeds or dust are present and you should be fine.

I haven't really gotten really sick recently, especially after moving from Albany to Newburgh.

In fact, I have only missed one day of school out of the entire year

I haven't gotten sick at all after moving here, but at my parents' house I'd get sick every couple of months. I would usually miss about 20 days of school a year.

I dunno, some "medicines" doesn't threat you from the disease, just making the symptoms less... annoying.

Exactly. All they really provide is temporary relief as you'll see on the label 99% of the time. That's why I tell people not to use medicine unless it's serious.

I live in a fucking desert. Ha ha I'm boned.

And honestly, I don't even know what this is, or how I got it. I just know that it's annoying as fuck.

If there are other symptoms present and it seems abnormal, either look it up on webmd.com or consult a doctor about it right away.

Current "symptoms" (just to give you an idea)

- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Coughing
- Sneezing
- Headache
- Pain when swallowing/coughing/sneezing

Sounds like something off the side of a bottle of Nyquil...

but god damnit I need a coughdrop... I've been coughing and sneezing more and more, and it really, really fucking hurts.

Sounds like a seasonal dry cold to me. It's common during the spring.

It seems like a moderate cold so some medicine would do. Get some Nyquil and plenty of rest. It should die down.

That sounds like typical crap of a sore throat, nothing special. Coughing and sneezing just aggrivates it. As the others said, medicine should do the trick.

I'm allergic to pollen, so I'm usually semi-miserable around this time. (Moreso if I actually go outside.) The last time I got sick, I was sick for a week straight with a nasal infection.

I hate being sick.

I am almost never sick - I have not missed one day of high school because of sickness. That's over 3 and a half years.

I'm sick for most of the time during Winter. Just usually some coughing, a runny nose, sore throat, and all the like. But since it's nearing Spring (man, it even smells like spring outside. I like having my window open during this time of year), most, if not all of my symptoms, have worn off.

Some kids last year (and the year before that) thought I was gone for 3 months. I was sick often, but I was never that sick.

I used to get the flu every year between February and May. A whole week of sheer agony. Fever, runny nose, sore throat, and I can't even do anything. After about 10:00 I turn into a zombie, I don't feel like doing anything and yet I'm bored to tears.
