What do y'all do to keep in shape?

My current goal is finishing Round and Round Workout A. For the link-phobic, it's a circuit of lunges, pushups, squats, and chin-ups. My main roadblock right now is finishing all 20 pushups in the final round. I got through 15 just a couple of days ago. My chin-up total per workout is about 15. I do the chin-ups in short set with about 30 seconds rest between them, but other than that, the workout is continuous. I almost had it a few weeks ago, then I had trouble with my forearm muscles and had to back off temporarily.

I do that 2-3 times a week with other assorted workouts on the non-Round and Round days:

- Squat up to a 3-rep max (once a week)
- High-intensity interval training on the elliptical trainer - 15 seconds sprinting, 45 seconds moderate pace (1-2 times a week)
- Non-assbusting elliptical trainer cardio workout (whenever I feel like it)

Those other workouts are usually followed by a few short sets of push-ups and chin-ups. Most performance increase at exercises comes from improved neural efficiency, so as long as you don't overdo it, it helps to practice the exercises often. I stop practicing when the exercises start to feel difficult, so this works well for me.

I rest 1-2 days a week.

When the weather gets warmer, I want to bike to work more often. It's 4 miles each way, and it takes me about 30 minutes.

practice every day.

this season it's track and field, though I only do the track part. I run long distance.

I also wrestle in the winter (and snowshoe, though this year I didn't wrestle), and run cross country in the fall.

in between seasons I run with a few other guys. Sometimes I go to the gym and lift, I'm small but still pretty strong for my size (and a hell of a lot tougher than I look...)

over the summer I also plan to run. And if fingers count, I play guitar ;-).

I'm in shape, but not very muscular. I have a thin, very wiry build. Thats why when I plan to flirt with girls, I wear long sleeves to cover up my wimpy looking arms -- try to get them more focused on my good points -- although it hasn't helped any.

so yeah, back on topic. I run. A lot. Probably a lot more than 5 miles per day. My fastest 5k times so far are 20:03 (on foot) and 32:?? (on snowshoes).

I think I can beat both those times now though. the snowshoe 5k course at empires was mostly uphill (UGH) and I had to walk a lot of it.

I can definitely break 20 minutes on foot though. My goal is to run 3 miles in about 16 minutes, and than beat that. I'd really like to get down to 15 and/or 14 minutes and be (or be very close to) the leading pack. Maybe my senior year... or maybe not. depends on how much I want to train...

I ride my little BMX bike 10 miles a day. About. And most of it is up up up, up hill.

I try to do physical labor whenever I can. Shoveling snow, home repairs and maintenance, etc. But I find, funny enough, whenever I do physical labor, I feel awesome.

My goal is to become an adrenaline junkie.

It's winter.

All I do, therefore, is the walking required by my job. Since I almost never do any bagging because of everything else I have to do, I spend at least 3 hours each day walking/jogging/running around trying to get things done.

When it warms up more, I'll be riding my bike the ~2 miles to and from work. Luckily, most of the return trip is either level or downhill. Unfortunately, the trip there is obviously going to be the opposite...

I don't do anything, I walk when I have to go somewhere because I don't have a choice, thats about it.

I eat lots of junk food too, I feel that helps me stay in shape.

Yeah, that helps, setz, if the shape you have in mind is spherical.

Well, I'm off and on with mine. Anything between DDR/ITG and biking up Arkansas hills in a 21-speed Mongoose to and from work (1-2 miles, depending on job) is my only means as of late.

Being spherically shaped is practical. Your clothing size never varies. It's your circumference, which you can easily calculate if you know your height.

I used to be into DDR, but I had knee problems aggravated by the jumping. By the time I fixed my knee problems, I just didn't feel like getting back into it.

<!--stupid center and width hack-->
At the moment, I'm not doing anything. I'm still suffering the fatigue part of the Glandular Fever thing so still resting.

When I am better, I will go back to walking 5 or so km on weekdays, and swimming around 2km on weekends.

I don't do much exercise.

DDR/ITG/SM/PIU does it for me, mostly the last one, which my legs kill me more than anything.

My quick metabolism gives me no motivation to exercise, even though I know I should. I don't really have any exercise plan. I'm still extremely thin, but that will probably change later in life since I'm not in the habit of exercising.

I usually have swim three times a week inn the morning, but since it's over now, I have to use my schools weight room. I don't think it's doing as much as swim did but at least I'm doing something. I'm also trying to get into this Wii workout thing. Mostly it's just Wii boxing for a half an hour. It's video games + a good workout, who could complain.

6-week training with monthly self-check and changes.

-5 sets of 15 curls with 25lb dumbells
-5 sets of 15 vertical lifts with 25lb dumbells
-2000 arm twist reps to tone my muscles
-1 speed rep with 20lb dumbells for 1 solid minute. No counting.

I've lost quite a few pounds in the past month or so, not really what I'm going for but I guess it works. I went from 235lbs to 210.

I ride my bike to and from school and work whenever it is humanly possible (i.e., above freezing and no snow on the ground). I also walk outside for a while every day, sometimes for 5 miles or more.

I walk around the city when the temperature is above freezing, and also ride a bicycle in warmer weather.
