Frankly, the only reason I even bother to make a mini pic is because the option is there on boards based off of acmlmboard softwear. I could care less if we had them or not.

As far I know, not on Acmlmboard 2.0, but it was really common within the last generation of Acmlmboard board software. And I seen GET variables used on all stupid sites, even on websites with quite impressive ALEXA ratings...

It's not as if using GET variables is bad in itself. It has its advantages...
Not for things that causes change in the database. Like a poll.

Last view: 1544 days 		GET, in a web development context, is used by people who are too lazy to hack up either a) a piece of javascript for easy posting, or b) too lazy to make a form and then style it so it doesn't screw around with the page.
