I am Michael and I approve this message. ____________________ It's only my second winter. They say it might snow (EDIT:more, it snows every winter in the north unless "global warming" gets going) and be colder than usual. I live in Pennsylvania and its only going to be my second winter. My 1st one was mostly rain, so being from Florida that was no big deal (besides the constant cold). Whats everyones thought about this upcoming winter? The only reason I made this is because im cold now. For alot of people up here it went below 0 a few times. The lowest I have got in early 2008 was 4 degrees (the night before was -10F windchill). I know this aint shit compared to the midwest with their -40 windchill. And yes live it day by day. Hopefull if I get snowed in, LazyShell will help me pass them time! ____________________ Michael AIM: immichaelkthx (on privacy, ask for add on request via pm) |

The 08-09 winter is only going to be the second winter you've ever experienced?!

He's from Florida.
I live in an area of Washington that doesn't seem to experience much snow. I consider myself lucky if I get more than one snow day per year. |

Snow is only good if I don't have to deal with it.
And we've never gotten much more than six inches of snow here at any one time. ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

I am Michael and I approve this message. ____________________ Last winter our road was ice for weeks at a time. One time I had to walk up in, instead of trying to keep my footing on the way down I decided to let the same gravity that was trying to knock me on my ass help my way down, so I just lid down. What I'm wondering is what do you think next year holds. If it stays warm and gets cold, the shit (rain) just becomes ice. If global warming is real the only place you'll get to see snow is like in Alaska... in winter. Meanwhile we will be planting palm trees in the northeast in January while we try to explain snow to younger people. They will think we are nuts and say its too warm for frozen water! ____________________ Michael AIM: immichaelkthx (on privacy, ask for add on request via pm) |

What I can observe is that we may have a little less snow than 15 years ago, but it's not that apparent. I feel like we always get approximately the same amount of snow every year, the difference is more in the distribution through winter. Sometimes we get the bulk of it at the beginning, and regular falls the rest of winter. Sometimes we get it almost all in big storms...
The peculiar thing I observed this year (2008) is that we had virtually NO spring. The snow melted in less than a week, and we had at most 2 weeks of noticeable spring coolness, then suddenly, summer temperatures. I don't complain much since spring is the season I dislike the most. But I'm pretty sure it won't happen again in many years... Besides that, nothing unusual. Temperature started to drop gradually, and soon, leaves will start changing colors, and the air will smell like autumn... |

Posted by boingboingsplat I actually had a couple of those last winter in college. The school didn't have any choice but to close because the mayor called a state of emergency due to the temperature. It sounds drastic, but all it meant was that being outside wasn't safe so businesses had to shut down. |

There's either no snow at all, or alot of it where I live. I do remember the winter for over two-three years ago where it seemed like that the winter would never stop...

I live in Adelaide, Australia. If I never moved it would be reasonable to expect that I would never see snow during the course of my entire life.
Gets cold a touch in winter though. Actually have to wear pants instead of shorts. |

Haha... I rarely ever get snow here.
All we receive in this state is tornados and drunkin rednecks. I hate them both |
