What would it be?

Rules of the thread:

1. You must post your reasoning.
2. You must post specifics.
3. You must not say anything like "the power to have more powers" or any other rule-breaking crap
4. You must not take anything taken by someone who posted before you.

Breaking the rules = post deletion, guy.

I'm going to start off by claiming immortality.

Who wants to live forever? I freaking do. I mean immortality as in being immune to any major disease, and unable to be seriously injured, while also not aging. Not real invulnerability, as that takes the thrill out of everything. I feel living forever would be great. The only problem is the whole "eventually everything gets boring" part but I totally don't believe that's a serious issue. Not dying is not dying.

Uh, I was going to take immortality too, with the added capability to die whenever I want to (so I wouldn't need to live in 3487309483908409384093840938409384 years when all there is in the universe are blackholes killing each other).

But instead of immortality, I'd rather have super speed. You know, existing at the speed of light without all the boring physics crap that makes us not able to. Also, unlike the usual cliche, my body wouldn't age faster just because I am fast though.

If anything, it would be Wisdom.

Because having a superpower is great - knowing what to do with it is even better.

Wisdom as in infinite knowledge / knowing everything?

Jedi mind tricks. It only works on the weak-minded, but there's almost an endless supply of 'em, so I can pretty much do anything I want.

Supernatural Wisdom? You'd just wind up like that guy (search the page for "Supernatural Wisdom").

Since all the good ones are already taken, I'll go with the option of generating electromagnetic waves of arbitrary intensity, position and direction, ideally with some macromanagement abilities on top of it to be able to, for instance, create perfect apparitions/mirages/illusions.

IRL savestates.
In the sense that I can revert time to the position of my choosing, with all elements (except my memory and knowledge) as they were.

Telekinesis.

You can do a lot with that. Screw with people, for instance. Or more useful things, since it's like having 3+ hands/arms.

Sudo powers in real life.

It's like being Zero in Code Geass, but a lot nerdier.

The power to control time would be great, since it would allow me to redo any mistakes I've ever made in my life, and I'd be spectacular in video games.

So I guess I'm going to have to be the one guy that says it...
Be able to function under water (any depth) as well as I can above water.
I mean I'd pretty much be insanely rich from the combination of new underwater life form discoveries, precious ambergris, and underwater poaching. Also if someone was trying to kill me, I'd be able to escape to the depths of the sea.

Hmm. Most of the good ones are already taken, so I'll take telepathy. By that, I mean the ability to clearly discern the thoughts and emotions of other people within a certain distance, not the vague Troi version. Being able to focus on individual people and being able to turn the ability off at will are a must if I wish to stay sane.

So in other words, you want to be Aquaman?

I'd like cyberpathy - the ability to manipulate data with my mind. I was gonna say healing factor first, but I can't imagine how that would fit into my life. Cyberpathy on the other hand could come in handy for a romhacker. Imagine being your own external HD...

PS: RT, what Troi has is empathy.

Forget my last 2 entries, you can take them. I'd like to have the same power that Peter Petrelli (from Heroes) does. Basically I can learn to use powers from anyone who is close to me. Assimilation would be the correct name for it I guess.

I'd like the ability to control all matter on a molecular level. Like disrupting it to dust or liquid or convert something to something else. Just to give some examples. It'd make almost infinitely powerful.

The reason to my choice is that there would be almost no limit to my power. I could do whatever I wanted. But for good or evil, that's the question. I'd probably joke around quite a bit.
