I wanted to see what all the fuss is about so I got the Japanese one, like with all new Pokemon games I like to play them before they take forever to translate and release it, I'm going to pick it up, but so far the oddest thing by far is I found a wild Level 10 Golbat.

I'm just waiting for a friend of mine with an R4 to take my save so I can trade some Eggs to my Platinum save and use them on the Emulator. Things I really don't like are the whole Shaymin factor, since none of us will probably get one, and I wouldn't be surprised if the item only works with the event one. Also this is gay: Regirock, Regice and Registeel will be catchable at level 30 with the help of an event Regigigas that has been distributed in Japan. ____________________ Why are you reading this? Yeah, they translated it though... which I didn't quite understand. Why bother translating it if you're not going to implement it? Then again they also ignored all the events in Emerald like Mew...
So far I'm raising up my Torchic (now Cumbusken), Treecko, and Croagunk that I got from Pearl, so I'll update once I get to another point in the game. All of them had egg moves so that's awesome. Torchic had Baton Pass, Night Slash, and Agility, Treecko had Leech Seed, Croagunk had Cross Chop and it got Wake-up Slap too =\. I'm really anticipating the American release of the game, it's really fun so far and it's definitely got smarter coms, that or I'm just unlucky and they keep getting critical hits, which has happened to me quite a lot. ____________________ Why are you reading this? If you would've liked to be forced to buy a Japanese cell phone, a plan for it, and the mobile adapter just for your little green pixie, by all means don't let me break your illusion. (This was back when US cell phones were... umm... a bit poor, to be quite honest.) Also, the Old Sea Chart (along with the Ho-oh/Lugia and Deoxys items) was given away in the US; you just missed it. At any rate, D/Pe have had plenty of event Pokemon easily available (I've got a Deoxys and Darkrai from the Toys-R-Us and Gamestop promotions, respectively, and I know I missed the Phione/Manaphy events), so odds are that we'll have no trouble with the Platinum events. |

Canada gets the same shit as Europe, we get screwed over for events... :/
Back before I lost Pearl I got all the Emerald event Pokemon with my (now broken) Gameshark. No hacked stats, I just went and caught them cause I really wanted a Ho-oh and a Lugia. Grabbed myself Deoxys and Mew. The events worked fine with the items (lol boat ride) To do the D/P ones you can use an AR to grab the items through Mystery Gift. I myself walked through walls to get Shaymin, but I was freaked out to get Darkrai and Arceus cause I might break the game. And cause I only had my friend's AR for 15 minutes. :/ ____________________ |

The Secret Key (the only thing for Platinum so far) was/will be (still hasn't happened yet, even in Japan) available over Wi-Fi. I can't imagine them not releasing it for the other countries.
Also, Tyty: Nobody has gotten the actual Shaymin/Darkrai events. Japan got both of those Pokemon from movies (you go, they download them to your game), while the US has only gotten Darkrai from Gamestop. Arceus doesn't exist as far as anyone has officially said. Nobody knows when an event will make it available, but it'll probably be when there's a movie focusing on it. Like Darkrai and Shaymin, it's not likely to be the actual one available in-game. (Also, unless they change something, the Shaymin you get in-game will not be eligible for its Sky Forme in Platinum. That's only for the one you get from the movie/whatever venue in the rest of the world.) |

There is no quest.
The event Darkrai was just given to you, same as the event Shaymin (and probably Arceus, whenever that winds up happening) will be. |

Finding Cresselia solves that problem.
EDIT: Besides, the in-game Darkrai event (still inaccessible... anywhere) begins with the player having a nightmare. While it's vaguely referenced a few other places, nothing else really directly affects it. |
