Server hatte einen Black-Screen, nach einem reboot ist dieser wieder erreichbar.

As you might have noticed, the server was down for a good 11 hours earlier. Apologies for any inconvenience caused; at least the last two hours were completely my fault for sending the support request mail to the wrong datacenter (my provider maintains several distinct ones) after being told to send one by the "we won't do anything before you did that" service line.

Turned out the server had a "blackscreen" and had to be rebooted.

No, not IRC. The whole server machine this board, the IRC server and other things are hosted on.

The IRC logs just give a good reference of the rough time when it happened.

The same, apparently, though we only got about two and a half hours of downtime.

If this happens another time, I'll ask them to swap the hardware again.

Another one... however, hopefully, the underlying problem is fixed for good now.

Sehr geehrter Herr ████████,

ich habe das Netzteil getauscht, dieses war laut eines Netzteiltesters nicht
mehr in der Lage die richtigen Spannungen zu liefern und hat seltsame
Geräusche von sich gegeben. Der Server steht wieder am Login und ist erreichbar.

("I swapped out the power supply; according to a testing device, it wasn't capable of delivering the correct currents anymore and emitted strange noises. The server is now reachable again.")

A faulty power supply can even be dangerous to have keep running in a computer. Would been ironic if the server literally catched on fire...
