before I couldn't find my installation CD for my cam, and windows did this install thing on my front USB port. I want to erase the settings on that USB port, because now I have to plug my cam in the back. ____________________ |

Just a note: it doesn't install anything onto the ports itself... that would be a rather stupid decision to make (and I bet Microsoft was tempted to do it too ). ____________________ |

Don't expect a detailed answer to a not-so-detailed question...
You can't "configure" a USB port. Your problem is about your cam settings in whatever software you're using, not the port... What happens when you plug your cam on the front? |

there's two options on my cam.
first one is the storage where all the shit is, second option is for it to act like a "PC cam" or webcam. you know how you plug things into the USB it does a high "ding-ding" sound, and when you unplug it does a low one? when I go to second option, it does a triple low "ding-ding-ding" like it's errored. I can't access the false driver it's set to by the install wizard. ____________________ |

...False driver? Also, knowing what sound it makes isn't very helpful... ____________________ |

I had this cam for a long time.
I didn't know where the driver installer CD was, so I just hooked it up to my computer. When I plugged my cam in, I tried to check "install everytime" option, but it's full of shit. Then I got annoyed how my cam would only work as a microphone, so I found the CD and installed the driver, but the cam only sets to the proper driver when plugged into the back, because faggot Install Wizard has both my front USB ports to false settings. ____________________ |

This isn't much help, but Windows is just plain *stupid* with its USB ports. Some things won't even work unless you plug them into the same port every time... ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

While plugging into diffrent ports tend to work, I do notice that Windows like to pretend that you're installing a new hardware if you plug a device into a port you hadn't plugged into before. Why Windows have this behavior is beyond me. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org
