Yes. I've finally started my hack over. As you may or may not know, my previous attempts (a good 5 levels and about 4 different tilesets) got erased thanks to a damn virus. Anyways, I do have the grassland tileset to get things started (because I uploaded it to smw central.) SO as of now all I've done is expanded the rom and asm hacked it (through lunar magic that is) inserted a few custom sprites and blocks, and imported my grassland tileset. Seeing as how I haven't done much to it yet, I'm wondering what you guys think about a few things.

1. Should I use the graphics style I used before?

2. Should I use SMB3 music like I did before or keep the standard SMW music (as of now it's smw music, and I'm not going to use custom music)

and

3. Suggestions for world themes and story line (ok this isnt a question, but I want to really start over from scratch here)

and for those who don't remember:

-standard smw music, I always hated smb3 music from super mario all stars.

That's a rather unusual graphical style to use in SMW. Are you sure you can make it work out right? At the moment, the contrast between the separate pixels in the background is too high, making it look more like static noise than texture.

I think that the graphics and the idea are well, however can be better, you must to change the pixels of the mountains, because it gives a effect of sand and views it ugly.

I know this might sound immature, but much like the citadels in the underwater castle on the cover of Disney's the Little Mermaid, the mountain tops in the farther background of your pic looks like a penis. Look at them closely. Also, everyone's right about it looking like static. The idea is nice, and the graphics don't have to be silky smooth, I mean, look at YI's graphics. But it is a bit jarring at first.

You're looking much too closely. XP

Hahaha! Lol! Sorry, that's just what struck me when the pic loaded on my browser. I even suffered some Beavis and Butthead flashbacks...

"Uhh huhuhuh... he said 'hard'... huhuhuh" "hee hee hee! yeah! hard! boioioing!"

yea the background was designed in a YI-esque style. I thought it would be a good graphical style to use both mario styles (YI style backgrounds with SMW style sprites and objects, which basically means a black border and little shading) along with my own style of foreground. And I don't see a penis, maybe only because I don't want to idk lol. Yea I'll keep the SMW music I guess. Any plot suggestions?
