After much speculation with Blizzard's teasing leading up to the Worldwide Invitational, it's official: Diablo III is in production.

There's a trailer and a gameplay video, introducing the Barbarian and Witch Doctor classes.

This game looks incredibly pretty.

I wish they had made RO2 (Its predecessor, especially, was said by many to obviously have been inspired by the Diablo games) more like that instead of how it turned out...

If the damn thing is monthly-p2p like WoW...

D2 was... meh. If D3 doesn't require monthly payments to play, I might actually get it.

Last view: 4853 days 		They'll say whether it's p2p closer to release date. Right now, it could easily be more than a year out, and odds are they haven't made that decision yet.

That said, I'd hope it wouldn't cost money for online. I mean, it's not like Blizzard doesn't have WoW to make copious amounts of money...

Yay unfounded paranoia!

(Because they totally did that with Diablo, Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft, Warcraft 2, and Warcraft 3.)

Besides, I rather doubt they want to add the competition in the "paid online games" field to their own game.
