The general consensus in Indiana is that Michigan drivers are godawful. I don't know how they feel about us Hoosiers but being that I'm on the frontlines (5 miles from Michigan) I see a lot of terrible driving when I'm in Michigan and it only gets worse the farther north I go. I guess you could call that a rivalry.


Wow, we think the exact same thing about you guys.

A town I used to live in has an ongoing rivalry with a nearly identical town (where I also use to live) about 10 miles away. The high schools have a football game every year and the winner gets to keep a tomahawk in their school until the other school wins again and takes it back.

There's a whole back-story, about it being found on disputed land or something. I don't know, I heard the story a hundred times, but never bothered to really understand or pay attention.

I've never heard of racism being an issue in Indiana.

On a slightly unrelated note, I think Oregon is one of the whitest northern states ever. I can only think of two black families that live within a fifty mile radius. All the other black people in Oregon play for the Blazers.

Neither had I, but one of my professors was telling us about it. He called Indiana "the middle finger of the South." XD

In the territory of what was East Germany, there's a long-standing and at least somewhat true cliché of West Germans ("Wessies") being conceited and generally holding an opinion of "being from the superior part of Germany", although, at least in terms of infrastructure and general living quality, the reverse is often true. This also leads to a certain degree of two-party competition thinking between representatives of eastern and western states in federal science olympiads.

As for the US West Coast being liberal - well, I heard of rural Californians in particular being a rather conservative folk... the tendency to larger cities being politically more left-leaning seems to be global.

Add San Diego and other places near military bases too. Except UCSD, which is filled with clueless Asians. I don't understand Californians, and have to say that the East coast is way better.

Reminds me about how Neo-nazis advertise their activites by playing pro-nazi songs really loudly with their windows open.

Needless to say, it sounds awful as you barely hear said song.
