What is your favorite Mega Man game? If you were stranded on a island, and you could have only one, which one would it be?

Mine, Mega Man X2.

Mega Man X2, obviously.
If the X series wasn't included, mm2.

Mega man 2

Then it's the game I'm most familiar with. Didn't play the X series much.

ZX and Zero should've gotten seperate spots too, they're the "mainstream" versions as well.

Anyway, uh... probably the SNES MMX games (1-3 iirc).

Mega Man NOT 2...

I still have major difficulties understanding what makes Mega Man 2 so incredibly good...

Megaman 2, though I have scarcely tried five games out of the options.

The later NES Megamans are sorts of knockoff and not nearly as memorable in several aspects, while the SNES ones lack the charm of the NES series in my eyes.

Megaman 4.
Haven't really played the others, I would play 2, but I still can't get my frontloading NES Wii Emulator to work, so I'll just play it later.

The SNES ones seems to attempt to be more serious, almost winding up being a little bit silly in my eyes.

And I just have more appeal for the style in the Mega Man games.

Your list is so incomplete, it hurts.

I'm torn between Mega Man 1 and X1-3. Mega Man 3 is pretty good, and ZX is really fun. Rockboard is definitely good, though clearly not sporting the usual Mega Man gameplay. Super Adventure Rockman is pretty good and makes me wish I knew a lot more Japanese so I could follow it better. Legends was pretty fun, as well. So many to choose from!

Of the ones I own, I can at least say that the following suck and should be avoided:

Rockman & Forte WS
Mega Man PC
Mega Man 2 LCD
Mega Man 3 PC
Mega Man Network Transmission
Mega Man X7
Mega Man X8

Every other one I own has at least some decent level of fun, including MM Soccer. It's really a hard decision to make, as it's really a great set of series, and its spinoffs that I own (Rockboard, Battle & Chase, SAR, Soccer, Power Battle, Power Fighters (still working on getting the arcade boards, but I have console ports)) are all pretty good, as well. Haven't tried the Misadventures of Tron Bonne yet; wonder if that's any good.

Probably Mega Man X3, though. I should play through the PSX version again soon.

The list was long enough. I didn't want to make it insanely huge. That's why I made the Other category.

Capcom should really make a Mega Man Soccer DS. The game is several years old now, and is due for a port to bring it back to awareness, and it would be perfect for the DS, because you could use the stylus, and the second screen could show you the boss select screen, or stats, or whatever. And Capcom would make money. I for one, would buy it. Too bad, chances of that happening are probably slim.

Megaman Anniversary Collection >.>

I dunno, my personal Favorite are 2, 1, X1, 5, 3, X4, 6, X2, 4, X5, X6, 7, 8. Although I do like the fanmade Megaman 7 8bit considerably better than the SNES version.

Haha. Perfect! You're smarter than all of us! Technically, Mega Man Anniversary Collection is a game in itself, which means that you can have up to multiple choices. Nice one!

What? That makes no sense.

Here is what I don't like about the later games, such as the Zero series, and ZX.

1. Capcom crams all of this dialogue into the games.

Honestly, if I'm going to do all of this reading, I might as well get a book. Notice how fun and original the older games were, and they didn't have so much dialogue. And they were able to tell the story through the gameplay. And it's not just Capcom that does this. Too much dialogue. It's not necessary. In fact, a lot of the cutscenes aren't necessary either. It's like they are trying to turn the game into a movie.

Remember Final Fantasy IX? That game was chock full of dialogue. You don't really start getting into the game until 40 minutes through, because of all the scripted actions and dialogue. Where as, Final Fantasy VII, the balance is perfect.

2. All the graphics are high-tech, and quite frankly, dull.

It has gotten so out of hand, that every area is high tech, and uses the same graphics scheme. The Mega Man X series had high-tech areas, but nothing like this. Literally, every area in the game is detailed, and it's like they go out of their way to do it. If you are going to make everything high-tech, keep it simple. Don't sketch detail wherever you go.

3. The bosses are ridiculous. Plain and simply, they are lame. And again, too detailed. I can barely make out where the boss' face is! They are adding too much detail to everything. Have you ever had a hard time making out where the face is on a certain robot boss?

Those are just some. Anyone agree/disagree?

I like this in most games. Haven't checked ZX, though. But I do like the idea of lots of dialogs in games.

Dialogue wise the worst game is... hmm, what was it called now...

Oh yes, Golden Sun! That GBA game probably was more dialogue than gameplay. xD

I voted for X2. It took everything that made X1 awesome and improved upon it substantially without having any of the design flaws that plagued the later games.

If I were to vote for one from the original series I'd pick 5 (NES).

If I were to vote for one of the Battle Network games I'd shoot myself instead.
