I've only played SimCity 2000 and SimCity for the SNES and I just go with SimCity 2000. There just seems a little much more to do in that one.
I always ran out of money fast in those games from wasting on useless stuff so I end up using cheats for infinite money to make a huge city. After doing that awhile, I just got bored of SimCity completely. |

The only one that I've played and liked is Sid Meier's SimGolf. All the rest kinda bored me. |

Streets of Sim City and SCURK 2000.
I used to play the hell out of that game. |

Posted by SamuraiX Perhaps, though newer installments often hold much more potential, and as such they become far more interesting to tinker with.. As I mentioned earlier as well, modding often opens a lot of doors with these types of games, giving you that nice personal touch that suits your desires. |

SNES SimCity was definitely my favorite, although after a point it stop being a simulation and just became a strategy game. You had to figure out what would make the simulator develop an area, even if it would make no sense in a actual city.
Never quite made it to megalopolis, though, I made it to 450,000 and just ran out space. "The Sims" games just bored me to tears. ____________________ "I'd like to confuse bok choy with cabbage." |

Posted by SamuraiXMaybe you just have no imagination. It's usually the most unimaginative people who have problems having fun with 'software toys' as Maxis called them at some point. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Cat JusticeOh god yes. I was saddened to find out that Streets doesn't work on XP. I played a bit in the normal games too, but they got boring somewhat quickly each time. SimCopter was fun, though. |

Right now I think it's The Sims 2. I have all sorts of fun with that game, yet I'm always behind in expansion packs. I have The Sims, but I don't play it very much anymore. There was a SimHotel a while back, and that was fun for a little while. |

Posted by SkreenyPosted by Cat JusticeOh god yes. I was saddened to find out that Streets doesn't work on XP. I tried that once and all the enemies did was jump and pathetically try to shoot me, then in the middle of the game I got some kindof error. I remember I used to put a crapload of forest arcos in my city then fly into the top with the airfoil to watch the baddies try to get me. But on Crush Hour, they manage to destroy the arcos. Eep! |

Sim City 2000 held my attention for years. I used to love making a large city, and throwing every disaster at it when I was done.
Sim Tower was pretty fun too. It's much better than the Sims in my opinion. |

I also love using the SCURK in SimCity 2000 to make my own city graphics
Has anyone ever used the SCURK? |

Sadly, they dropped the idea with playable 3D versions of cities. :/ Although then, Simcity spinoffs are probably rather unlikely with The sims around now. D:
I used scurk a bit, done mostly stupid stuff with it though. Heh. Badly done pixel art tiles. << ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I still remember a glitch for making "glass" tunnels from SKURK to Streets of Sim City.
-Make a mountain and put a tunnel through it -Use the tree tool and put trees over the tunnel -Use the bulldozing tool and you'll notice there's no explosion With that you could make curved tunnels but you could see through the mountains as well. |
