It makes me want to play "Bust A Move" at the arcade just so I can see that screen. Although I won't win because I do use Wikipidea. |

I was going to say I rarely use Wikipedia, but forgot that everything I search for on Google, usually links me to Wikipedia.
I guess it is helpful. |

I guess I'm a winner because I've used drugs more often than wikipedia.

Wikipedia is absolutely fantastic for doing school projects.
*cough* ...OK, maybe not with *all* teachers... |

Well, even if the teacher doesn't accept Wikipedia itself as a source, most pages on Wikipedia have links to other pages and articles that could be acceptable sources. |

You should never cite an encyclopedia for research. (Not just Wikipedia, but ANY encyclopedia)
Encyclopedias are meant to just give basic, general information on a subject, and then they have citations for sources just in case you want to find out more. Another thing is that Wikipedia is editable by *anyone*, and sometimes the articles that are created are biased or something. For example, if you wanted to do a research paper about the recent fiasco with bass and xk, you probably wouldn't want to base your information solely on the AcmlmWiki. But anyway, what's with all the sudden hate for Wikipedia? I go there a lot to look up some stuff I don't know occasionally. It's useful. ____________________ |

*speculates randomly* Maybe Xkeeper got banned from Wikipedia somehow? Or he disagrees with something like an article deletion? |

Drag: At the same time, sometimes I find that Wikipedia is the best place to start when I'm researching something. It actually happened that I mentioned it as a source, but alongside several others non-encyclopedian ones.
There's some people really against Wikipedia out there, but most of them seems to be uhm... disgruntled encyclopedia writers. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I've never been against Wikipedia at all, since I don't have any problems with anything there.
Wikipedia and Google are two sites I rely on for a lot of things |

Posted by Ailure That's a perfectly acceptable way to use an encyclopedia. I'm just saying, the information in an encyclopedia should NEVER be the *only* information you use. At least one of the non-encyclopedia sources should be used as well if you're planning on seriously doing a research paper or something. ____________________ |
