Yea i just got a psp from my friend wanting to play psp games, but more-so to explore homebrew psp like snes, genesis, and gba emus. Then i realized dammit, the firmeware is 3.51. I know that there's no way to downgrade it except for the pandora battery/memory stick downgrade combo. Problem is i (obviously) dont have a homebrew psp to do it with. I found a site detailing how to create the battery by manually cutting a pin to the eeprom, but is there a way to install the firware 1.5 update and whatever else is needed on a memory stick WITHOUT a homebrew psp?

if you can access it from your computer then you can create your own magic memory stick. there's programs now that do it nice and easy for you. catch there is that you have to have something on your computer to read a memory stick duo.

i have a 32 mb Memory Stick Duo, i read it has to be bigger than 32 MB and less than 4 GB and has to be Memory Stick Pro Duo, is this true? and i could just connect my psp to my computer to write to the memory stick as far as that goes...

also, i found pandora easy installer, so all i need now is the actual battery. So do i actually HAVE to de-solder the pin, or can i like break it/cut it/ lift it up with tweasers/etc... ?

ok.. so i didnt get it to work and now i have no battery... however i did find a site where i can buy a pandora battery + pre-installed Memory Stick to boot firmware.
https://www.bargainpile.net/product_info.php?currency=USD&products_id=34

Does anyone know if this is legit before i spend $50 on it?
