Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let you guys know that the skeleton code of Crimson Echoes has been finished. I.E. I have played through the game start to finish without skipping chapters/ walking through walls etc.

Please do not think this means the game will be released soon, there is still ALOT to do. All of the battles and most of the text our "placeholders", we haven't added treasures, most of the maps need to be refinished, I want to expand alot of the dungeons, finalize music for specific places add some new sprite work.....

That being said this is a MAJOR milestone, alot of the above stuff can be done in parallel and just inserted later. We've also gotten very organized so expanding dungeons is streamlined. The project is moving like wildfire and well for the first time I see the light at the end of this long, long tunnel.

Anywhos, During my last play through I took some pictures. There may be some MILD spoilers in these I took effort to not take pictures of anything big but there may be NPC's in the background or something.

(jpsondag.com doesn't have anything yet, eventually i'll put up a website)

If you are interested in helping we got a few new people with my last request but if you have skills with hacking/mapping/spriting it'll only make it go faster.

Enjoy

*wonders what you're talking about as far as skeleton code goes*

If it means what I think it means you may have more to do than you think.

I'm not pretending like this is almost done. I'm just saying that we have a dungeon for every dungeon that is supposed to be there, a cut scene for every cut scene that should be there, a battle for every battle that should be there, a textbox for every textbox that should be there.

None of those are necessarily the final versions but they are accounted for. That doesn't mean they won't be the final versions but now we need to go through and fine tune all of them.

I'm confident that I can do it all except for the sprite work....I could learn how to use the tools and maybe even make some ugly sprites but the final product wouldn't be done as quickly or as well as a good spriter.

Looks nice, but you guys should be extremely careful with your spelling and grammar on such a text heavy hack as this. I've noted the errors I've seen in the dialogue here.

bigthingshere: 'refreshments' is spelt incorrectly
crazyshithappening: fire should not be capitalised
cronospissed: Should be a question mark, not an exclamation mark.

Don't worry all of the text boxes are just place holders. They'll have many eyes go over them before the final release.

I know it seems like we've done nothing since everything is placeholders but what's significant is like....people say new stuff after certain points in the story.

Since we're speaking metaphorically anyway, what if they're all blind?

While we are at it, yeah, chances are a lot of those still will be turned a blind eye to.

You should request a Grammar Wehrmacht division from here as backup~

Well, I guess after the release we're going to have a bug reporting system so we'll have a category for text errors.

The place holder dialog I made is incredibly low priority for me, while the final dialog will be added by others who take writing pretty seriously so it shouldn't be nearly as bad as what you see from these samples. We literally haven't even gotten to the point of adding dialog to most of the game.
