As you didn't know before. I modified SMB Utility just a few days ago. I didn't do programming on my own. Sakugarne taught me. Anyway it's a new version of SMB Utility modified by me called ISD SMB Util.

What is ISD SMB Util?

ISD SMB Util (Insectduel's SMB Utility) is a SMB1 level editor that is based on SMB Utility the English version version 1.00 BETA 3 created by M.K.S which has SMB2 Japanese Item names along with corrections. A similarity of Item SMB2 Japanese which is based on SMB Utility the Japanese version of version 1.04 designed by SMB Software.

SMB2 Japanese Item names in English

And a few corrections in the program.

Download

Yes I have to do this for a reason because it is easier for me or any other ROM-Hackers to use it. Please follow instructions by all means.

great work insectduel, i have used that utlity before and it's easy to work with. I've made some decent hacks myself using this. It's especially great having the built in emulator to test out your work and such.

That's what happen if you ask questions TOO quickly before reading either my post or my software document.

Anyway as I was saying. I corrected a few mispellings and captializations in SMB Utility that M.K.S MISSED. Plus I added SMB2 Japanese item names replacing all SMB1 item names.

So you basically hacked a handful of ASCII strings and then renamed the utility after yourself? That's beyond fucking pathetic, even for you.

Your first post in this thread barely resembles English. Why would anyone think your "software document" would be any better?

Also ditto what Sliv said.

That's untrue. There is the original Japanese version called Item SMB2 by SMB Software based on the same fanatics as ISD Util so I renamed the utility after myself because I modified the ENGLISH version. I could name it something else like Item SMB2 International or something. But since I researched SMB2 Japanese databases, I have to name the utility after myself. Just like Acmlm's SMB2 Discombobulator.

And there were a LOT of complaints (since RHDN) about the ROMs Mapper or Trainer. I don't know if it's possible to work on the same tactics WITHOUT a trainer so trainers have to be here in order to make the ROM work. And yes, it is possible that I may need to find the way to make the ROM to work with all emulators besides FCEU or SMB Utility.

But I need to figure out how.

How much of this utility did you write / design yourself? 0.001%? That doesn't give you the right to name the software after yourself. (In spirit, anyway, if it's public domain then it's not really an issue other than looking like an ass.)

Seriously, this is nothing like Acmlm's situation. Acmlm *wrote* the SMB2 discombobulator all by himself. He didn't take someone else's hard work and slap his name onto it as you've seemingly done.

Ummm, I really don't know whats worse, that your actually trying to rip off this software, or that you don't see the problem with it.

You cant just change a couple strings and then slap your name on it and expect people to congratulate you. This really is pathetic.

What's even worse is that he attempted to use "his" tool as a argument to support his SMWC staff application

Whatever.

Enough talking about my Naggings, Egos, and all kinds of Shit.

If you guys don't care about me being respectful to you guys or if you rely on me because I've been a Veteran ROM-Hacker.

This might change your mind

Come on, Try it. Maybe now you'll know what a good SMB1 ROM-Hacker I was for researching all the damn databases for my hard work and effort.

Follow instructions for ISD SMB Util by all means. That does not mean this might increase chances for my support for ROM-Hacking staff.

This thread made the copyright Christ weep tears of bloody sorrow (not sure if copyright actually applies here or not, but it made him weep regardless).

I'm not expecting people to congratulate me. I'm only expecting people/ROM-hackers to motivate like me. And I already told you in the document that I do not claim the utility as my own as long I have M.K.S's name.

FOR years, no one researched SMB2 Japanese so I took over in Dec, 05 and already made 2 hacks of that game. And I'm still gonna make more SMB2 Japanese hacks and continue to motivate ROM-Hackers.

I was wrong anyway. I don't see any editors name after themselves but Oh, well.

This thread has gone too far with flaming replies about ISD SMB Util so for now on, all questions should be anwsered at my FORUM only.

I want this thread closed by all means.

Thank you.

I agree as far as this thread having gone too far - from both sides - goes.

Canned.
