Does anyone else think the name Wii sounds really dumb? Revolution (the original name) sounds so much better. "I'm gonna go play Revolution" sounds awesome, whereas "I'm gonna go play Wii" sounds like you're talking about masturbation. Not to mention the whole "hold your wee for a Wii" fiasco and the fact that it sounds like a personal pronoun and ends with two i's.
What is your opinion on the name Wii, and do you think the console should have been called something else instead? (We're only talking about the NAME, not the actual console.) |

Hasn't this been discussed a million times already? I think everyone liked the name Revolution better (I know I did) but there isn't anything anyone can do about it now. |

I was surprised when Wii was announced as the official name for the console. After a while, I got used to the name.
I used to call it the Revolution when the name "Wii" was barely announced but I don't do that anymore nowadays.  |

"Revolution" did sound nice for a new revolutionary console, but since it's only the codename (like Nintendo DS was "Nitro") ... I felt the same when the "Dolphin" was officially named Gamecube, but I eventually get used to the official name ____________________ |

I think the console should have been called the Nintendo N⁵ because it's the fifth Nintendo console after the NES, SNES, N64, and Cube. |

The only thing bad about Wii is that fun can be prodded with the name.
I know a bunch of PS3 fanatics that say that they want to stay up all night to play with their Wii. Then talk of how sex and gunplay is awesome. *sigh* |

Wii is a great name.
Because let's face it, if you think the name is funny, you're obviously retarded. Wii is much easier to say than Revolution, IMO. |

PS3 s the least original name ever because anybody can make a new version and the number it is to the original name.
Xbox 360 isn't that original because anybody can make a new version of something and add a number to the original title. Wii is original in almost every way. No doubt about it. |

They were right about one thing at least, about the name.

It's a short, simple to spell, fast to write, and catchy name.. It's genius really.
Sure my initial response to it when I first heard about its name left me.. confused we'll say. But overall, once you get past that initial impression, you find that it's a great name. |
