I've always known NSMB had several unused levels in it, but I never paid them much attention.
Today Tanks managed to identify one of them as a level from the E3 demo.
I decided to try and start making them playable.

Eventually, I got 3 of them to play (the other two were basic grass levels with glitchy graphics and crashy objects).

Here are some videos of them:

If there's enough demand I may post a patch.

As I mentioned on MSN, hot stuff right there!
You should probably inform the folks at TMK's Lost Bytes about this.

The author of the nocash project is just like any of us ACMLMers, is supporting him with even a few dollars to help him get through his already slightly miserable life too much to ask?
Troopa Pride, you don't even need a debugger. Why did you even consider pirating a program so cheap and meaningless to you?
I understand people going for piracy when it comes to Adobe or Microsoft products, because for one, they don't need your money. They already have enough to buy everything they need. Supporting them will only ensure that it will stay that way.

But seriously, just look at the guy. Is five bucks you'd get in a snap from your parents just too much for your life to lose?

Just like you don't see what's so bad about your post layout, I guess.

?

What did I say about a debuggger?0_o
And I just randomly found a link to it on rapidshare when googling something about donations and nintendo ds.
Therefor more, I don't have a credit card.

To be honest, if I did have a credit card, I would support it for the sake of DS emulation, but I don't and there was absolutely nothing stopping me from getting it.
So that was my only work around for acquisition of a decent ds emulator.
I am in debt. to the creator though, so if I might be able to assist with anything I would help out

Though I may of not acquired the emulator through moral acquisition, it is highly appreciated how well it runs DS games and I can only say "good job!" ^__^

I can give the creator the link to the site if he wants to shut it down though to prevent more pirating..

I think the speed makes it awesome
Now MKDS Beta is actually playable =O

Alright, then back onto the discussion of the lost levels:
Were those big brown tornadoes in the original game or have I just not played for awhile? They don't look familiar.

Those are just ordinary tornadoes, only without the alpha layer.

Nice find.

Is the lack of alpha layer in the tornadoes a bug related to the emulation or the levels themselves?

I've heard his sob story many times before and don't believe it one bit. Perhaps it was true a long time ago, but no longer.

I would guess in the emulation. I've seen Phoenix Wright emu videos, and they also lacked transparency for when the judge would strike his gavel.
