Heh, ironically raytracing becomes more and more worthwhile the more polygons a scene would have. At some point, raytracing is actually faster than rasterized graphics.

I love the idea of a game with rasterized graphics, but we probably would have to wait a few years...

Raycasting is much simpler than raytracing.

The build Engine uses raycasting as well. Either way it's much simpler than raytracing, and don't have the pretty effects of it (such as nice reflections).
