I have Swordquest: Waterworld for the Atari 2600. Of course, I can't figure out how the hell you're supposed to play it. |

Posted by Trapster I love these two games. The first level of Gaurdian Legend was just plain boring, but after that, it's like a completely different game. And Battletoads. Oh yeah. I don't know if they are rare or not; I'm pretty sure Battletoads isn't. |

Battletoads? If it means anything, I have both Battletoads on the Genesis (the ones also on the NES). I had absolutely no idea they were ported to the Genesis until only a few years ago when I found them and bought them. |

I don't really consider a game rare unless its a prototype, because you can find anything on eBay these days. I have a few S/NES games I had some trouble finding but I don't know if I'd consider them rare. ____________________ |

I never owned an NES because I was too young for it. I don't have much "rare" stuff but...
I have an original Game Boy that still works like a charm. Ahh, remember the yellow-green contrast? Super Metroid cartridge. It's not truly rare, but it's the rarest to find in its series. It cost me $30.00 used. Truly one of my favorite games. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. You must be thinking, "Rare? I own that--that's not rare!" However, I ordered it through Nintendo Power back in 2000 as a bundle pack and got the game, guide and soundtrack for $70 plus the renewal of the magazine. The game itself is a gold, holographic cartridge, probably worth a decent amount, seeing as you could only get them in like the first month or so of the game being out. Other SNES games: DKC1 DKC2 DKC3 SMAS (without SMW) Goof Troop () Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow SMW SMW2: Yoshi's Island Old Game Boy games: Donkey Kong Land 1, 2, 3 LoZ: Link's Awakening (DX and original) Wario Land 1, 2, 3 Pokémon Blue, Red (two copies), Yellow, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins Turok II Metroid II: Return of Samus Thunderbirds (European game, own two copies) I think the three I went into detail about above are more rare that anything I have. Though I think Metroid II might be rare, along with the old Link's Awakening. Maybe someone could help me figure out which are rarest, if any. ____________________ |

I don't know that all of those games would be considered rare...Well-known Mario games, for instance, are about as common as water. |

I think the rarest game I own is probably one of my N64 games... |

I am embarrassed to say that I own a copy of Bible Adventures purchased for the rarity factor and amusement value. This was before I knew what an emulator was, let alone had a powerful enough computer and a way to download ROM's. The amusement value was not worth the price of the game.
We have some uncommon Playstation games: Elemental Gearbolt, Tactics Ogre, and non-Greatest Hits Final Fantasy Tactics. FFT was a great find because I bought it used in excellent condition for $20. (And when it eventually got released as GH, I was glad I hadn't paid out the nose for it.) Our copy of Silent Hill is Greatest Hits, but considering that the lowest price for the game on Amazon is $42, it may qualify as rare. |

Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario All-Stars and DKC2 I bought myself when they came out
I managed to save Secret of Evermore from the bargain bin at the rental store back home when they were clearing out their SNES/Genesis games. |

Considering how SMB is one of the best selling games of all time... nope. Not rare. |

Indeed. While not quite as common as SMB+DH, it's still hardly worth anything.
I do have a near-mint boxed copy, though (sold separate from the NES)...I should find out if it's worth anything. ____________________ [citation needed] |

I used to have a Virtual Boy. Those are very rare here in Europe.
Aside from that, Tombi! for the PSX. Great game, but too underrated. ____________________ |

I actually think my rarest games might be:
- Rocket: Robot on Wheels for N64 - Clockwork Knight 2 for Sega Saturn - Kasumi Ninja for Atari Jaguar |

I forgot to mention that I also have the Zelda: OoT and Master Quest special disk for Gamecube. That's gotta be worth something, even if a little. ____________________ |

How could I forget that I have a prototype of SMB 2.
It's like Doki Doki panic, but with Mario characters instead. |
