Here's something for all you Mega Man fans out there. It's a remix of Elec Man's Stage from Mega Man 1 (NES). Here's a link:

http://www.freewebs.com/pokebro2/Waves%20Of%20Lightning.mp3

I know it's long, but I'm sure you'll love it anyway.

Please comment.

Oh! And please download it, if you just click it, it won't appear. (sorry it's so big in size)

It seems to simply be redirecting back.

That's strange...the first time I clicked it, the link didn't work, now it seems to work again...

You should replace some of the instruments with more high quality versions, the piano sounds a little bit cheezy.

Not too bad remix otherwise. Starts off a bit boring, but gets better towards the middle of it, and towards the end.

...the Elecman theme always make me think about that REM theme.

Glad you guys liked it. And I need your opinion on this. Do you think it's good enough to be submitted at OverClocked ReMix? I was thinking about submitting it there.

Slight criticism: The bell sounds starting around 2:05 or so sound somewhat flat.

It sounds more like a metallic xylophone for me, and works as that.

Either way, without ever having heard the original song, I found it quite decent. Perhaps do something for it being less repetitive, like making the instrumentalization richer with each time it repeats.

That's because I used the glock. I was thinking about replacing it with some other synthesizer.

And I just now made an improved version. Here it is:

http://www.freewebs.com/pokebro2/Waves_Of_Lightning.mp3

You'll have to download it though...the link doesn't work (atleast not for me...) It may take awhile, though.

Heh, you should check out the original song. It's somewhat infamous for being similar to a REM song. Hell I remember playing this game over at a friends place once, and his dad pointed out how similar it was to that song himself...

Hey, I like the refined version alot.

I guess with some good tuning, it'll be worth OC Remix's listing...
Some instruments (the synths, for example) sound like cheap MIDI synthesizer notes from 8 year ago...

Yea, and Flash Man's stage from Mega Man II sounds like "Seek and Destroy" by Metallica and Neon Tiger's stage from Mega Man X3 sounds like "My Michelle" by Guns N' Roses.

Your remix is good but the "waves" are a bit much for me. I personally don't think there's enough there to call this a remix. Although my own remixes are quite lacking.(jindogan.newgrounds.com)

Really? I thought they went well with my remix. I put them there so it wouldn't sound as empty. But of course, that's just my opinion.

I thought they were pretty good, actually. The only problem I found is that they sounded a little "empty", but that may be just because my computer doesn't have very good bass. And also, maybe you should change some instruments around, too. But other than that, I found them quite decent.

Oh, and this may be a little off topic, but if you guys want to here my VERY FIRST version of my Elec Man remix. Download this link. You'll find it is actually alot "emptier" compared to my MP3 version.

Uh, that's an enormous stretch...

The Neon Tiger one is a good match, though, and only makes the Guns N Roses-themed names in X5 that much more awesome.

Rather than the "woosh!" you hear behind the music, try adding a flanger effect to a bit of random noise constantly playing through the track, perhaps something we can't hear. I would suggest adding it to a different instrument, but it might ruin the effect. What programs do you use?
