for my 27th birthday, last Friday, NyteBrew and I attempted to build a "Pentium +4 Gnome Tower" but alas, the refurbished pentium4 they used 478 pins that were too short for a different kind of socket other then socket 478 Intel Pentium 4.

you can read about it here.

Anyways, afterwards we went to Dan Majerle Sports' Grill after getting 86'd from Alice Cooper's "Cooperstown".

We didn't actually get kicked out, the guy at the gate was just like 'We're Done For The Night.'

At the bar some jackass tried pulling the telling-obnoxious-bad-ethnic-jokes while getting-a-beer in order to-steal-some-chump's-wallet deal on me.

I told the motherfucker 'Piss off, douche-cunt, I'm the fucking designated driver.'

he then left the bar empty handed.

After that, NyteBrew had had about 4 beers, and we had to walk a block back to the car and drive home.

I had to cut NyteBrew off at 4 beers, because he was getting ornery.

It's not like he couldn't handle another beer or two, he is like 250lbs and 6'7".

After we got back i can't remember what the hell happened, I just woke up a whole day later and he told me my family went on fucking vacation without me!

So here I am, no Wii due to my little brother taking it with him to play Umbrella Chronicles that I bought, and can't go to my niece and nephew's to use theirs because they both have the Flu.

Only companionship I have for this week is my cat, and the folks at the corner store.

That's how my birthday rolled this year.

NyteBrew ate nearly my whole fucking birthday cake of what was left, I was so pissed.

Happy Trails,
Cheers,
TRK

I'm, honest to god, starting to think you're literally retarded. Counted your chromosomes lately?

Pentium 4s only used two socket types: Socket 423 and Socket 478. Pin length has nothing to do with anything, considering the number of pins would be different anyway (Ever wonder what the 423 and 478 mean? Of course not).

The only thing I can think of is that you're trying to put a Socket 423 or 478 chip into an LGA775 socket, or vice versa. Either is retarded, which brings this post around full circle.

Also, considering just about everything I've seen you say was total bullshit, I bet your birthday shenanigans were as well.

Sorry to even bother replying in this thread again, but I actually read your little post about building your "Gnome Tower" (Seriously, Gnome is just a piece of Linux: Do you call your Windows machines "Explorer Towers" too?), and I just want to point out your idiocy so that nobody here will make the mistake of taking anything you post as having any intelligence, credibility or knowledge behind it.

Let's break this down, then:

Last Night, my 27th birthday Gnome Tower project ended in fail.

Surprise.

The processor that was shipped to NyteBrew was refurbished with too short of pins,

We already covered this idiocy...

In addition, the damn board we had to elevate on pegs in order to get the damned motherboard to screw in place

Oh, really? PEGS? No shit, Sherlock, these are Mounting Brackets. Try screwing the MB straight to the case and watch your fat face turn red as the entire board shorts and catches fire.

A hammer because I had to punch out the damn port plate that was mismatched and I had to use it with the screw driver to punch out some card slots.

Wire clippers work much better, sparky. Or even rocking the things backand forth to break the thin metal connections on the ends. But hey, bending the case itself will give the piece of shit character, right?

We tried two monitors and neither worked due to the pins on the CPU being too damn short due to being refurbished with the wrong length pins.

Wait, what? Do you have some turbo magical CPU/GPU combo chip?

I need to get a new replacement socket 478 Intel Pentium4

Wait, I though you had some kind of freakish short pin CPU, not the socket?

and need a BIOS chip for the NIC card.

Uh, no, not unless you're trying to install a PXE ROM into the thing or something.

BTW, how do I flash a BIOS if the BIOS is blank?

Uh, what? If the BIOS is truly blank, then you'll have to program it in a dedicated machine or another identical MB. I'm assuming you're talking about the MB, but who knows. Probably not even you.

I need to install Debian via NetBIOS

You realize that NetBIOS is simply a (shitty) P2P networking protocol for Windows, right? No, you probably don't.

since the CD-Rom doesn't work without a kernel already installed, it seems.

The CD-ROM will be controlled by the CPU at the BIOS level: Not having an OS doesn't mean shit. If it did, you wouldn't be able to boot from CDs, would you?

Either that, or a lack of a functional CPU is preventing the CD-Rom and monitor from being supplied power by the power supply.

HURF A DURF! This is truly the prize of your idiotic post. The CD-ROM won't work without a CPU? MADNESS! Why don't you rip the engine out of your car and complain that the tires won't spin? And, yes, the GPU won't do shit without a CPU either, or any component of the system for that matter.

In conclusion: You sit around spewing shit as though you are an authority on it, despite the fact that I and many others here actually, you know, KNOW about things like this. You are a sad, annoying cunt who should really consider the benefits of suicide.
