Hahahaha. I don't think so.

The main error with it is that there were too many places that required absolute precision, and backtracking was impossible, so it was too easy to lose due to unfairness.

That's why it's so great, you have to actually think it through to get through it.
No. You might have a point if we were talking about, say, Kaizo Mario World, but we kinda aren't so you're pretty wrong.

Whatever, even if I'm wrong, who cares? I mean, it's not like it's going to win anyway, if I'm the only one who gave it a 50.

Having to replay the levels a quite few times to finish it due to lack of backtracking != thinking.

The only game I seen where unfair deaths was nicely done was on the "I wanna be the guy" freeware game. And only because the deaths was varied alot...

It will end when our last judge PM's me with the results (if that doesn't happen soon, then I'll go ahead and end it).

Well, if the submitters had to abide by a deadline, then so should the judges. Especially the judges. Any particular date in mind?

Probably 3-16, as that's the last day before the weekend ends.

When SNN and I did this we set both deadlines for submission and a deadline for ourselves to be done with judging. You really should have set one for the judges because it's been over two weeks since the contest ended. The judging period has been longer than the submission period...

I still believe it was a success. We got a total of 10 levels to judge from, with plenty of judges. I think the host did pretty well for this contest. Call it a learning experience. I think we should have another one in about 6 months!

So, when will the results be posted? Later tonight?

At midnight tonight I suppose...

NOTE: The time that we're going by is -8 hours from the server (my local time), just for clarification.

I sent my results.

I didn't think Shellkickers cavern was as bad as Alastor portayed it, but it wasn't my favorite of the levels either way.

My absolute favorite in the end was Ninji Fortress.

Shellkicker Cavern

Creativity: 10/10
Difficulty: 10/10
Appeal: 10/10
Functionality: 10/10
Fun: 10/10
Overall: 50/50
Comments: A perfect score! This is the best one I’ve seen so far! It was so hard I got stuck and actually had to see it in Lunar Magic to determine whether or not it’s good! And the hardest ones are the best ones in my opinion. "

While I don't think that level was as bad as Alastor made it sound, it did have flaws. I probably wouldn't have played through it if I didn't use savestates... And ironically, you kind of pointed it out yourself.

Glad to see that my personal favourites got the top two spots.

Hey, second place. Not bad. I didn't think I'd get that high but then again, I had no real opinions on the level on SMWC where it couldn't truly be judged so who knows. Maybe it would have done nearly as well there if I hadn't been judging and could've gotten it scored.

A couple things I wanted to say about my level from the verdicts I read:
-I honestly forgot to add in the Midway Point. I knew where it was going to go and everything and just forgot.
-The 3-up moon at the end was just there for the heck of it, like a reward for beating the level. It's only one level so it would only be of use if you played the level again.
-Originally there was going to be a Big Boo fight while on the flying Yoshi but Big Boo and flying Yoshi can't be together because the sprite memory settings cause Yoshi to disappear. I also couldn't put him in a different room and send Mario and Yoshi to the room because you can't leave the flying Yoshi room unless you exit the level or drop off the bottom of the screen.

wow, kinda surprised I won this one given that it was up against darklink's mountain heights, which blew everyone away at the SMWC one. I guess that's what happens with different judges. Thanks for the comments guys. I'm planning to split the two main parts back into two separate levels again, though in the final version there will be custom blocks in both to make things better. The biggest issue in the Layer 2 room was the trap at the end where you need to use the throw blocks the first time... I still never did find a safe way to deal with that part. Hopefully using just ON blocks instead of ON/OFF in one section can make that easier.

Thanks again for the comments, I find those more useful than the overall ratings.

If I gave Sukasa's level a score, it probably would been higher on the list.

Reason I didn't give him a score was because I considered the level invalid. I noticed right away that the time limit wasn't right.

FirePhoenix0: Playing through your level again, I don't think a midway point would really that be necessry since it's not really a difficult level. But I assume you would add the midway point just before you get the Yoshi?

I didn't like Mountain Heights, as it wasn't that creative. The only creative part I saw was the lava pillar room, but the rest seemed like a failed attempt at creativity, making it worse.

Correct. It was going to be right near the pipe leading to Yoshi but somehow I forgot to add it and a pipe for the midway entrance.
