OK, so recently, Firefox just quit connecting to anything. I originally thought it was my internet entirely, but no- IE and Opera still work.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, but no luck. You guys have any advice or ideas?

My bad:
Firefox - 2.0.0.12
OS - Win XP
Internet - Time Warner Road Runner
I've tried this through my Belkin router and also just through the cable modem.

What extensions are you using?

Sure you didn't turn on the proxy by mistake?

Usually, I use ForecastFox, GMail Notifier, Greasemonkey (with only scripts related to Kingdom of Loathing running), IETab (well, not use, but it's installed), Long Titles, Mouse Gestures, Pennypacker, and Talkback.

However, I disabled them all in case that was the problem.
Edit: Also, I've checked for updates for them, nothin'.

As for the proxy, it's on the Connected Directly setting, though I tried the Auto-detect setting just to check.

A logical next step for debugging would be to set up a rudimentary httpd of any kind on your localhost and see if you can connect to it at least.

Find and download Apache (or OmniSecure). There should be instructions for setting up the server on the website you dl from (maybe?).

the other thing you can try to do is to type in an IP address, instead of domain name to see if things work. This board's IP address is 213.239.193.176

IPs are a no-go. I'll download Apache soon and get back.

You could also try Firefox's safe mode to see if that helps. You'd do that by running

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

or something similar, depending on where Firefox is installed.
