aw....

I was hoping you had some hilarious real world mishap like one of my friends. He over-primed the fuel on an Air Force plane and it caught on fire. (It was still on the ground, luckily)

Heh, this is pretty fun to mess around in.

I was close taking this great screenshot, but the control messed up before I could take it. ._.

Edit: Flied under a bridge~.

I crashed a plane once. I turned my phone on and it fried the avionics circuit board.

At least I got to go down the inflatable slide.

I use to have flight simulator for my PS2. I had over 2000 hours, it was pretty cool.

Well I guess I won't be playing this, it lagged my computer way to fucking much. It took up over 209M of ram before it even finished starting up. That is rediculous; what is this, WoW? I even set most of the graphics/etc stuff to minimum/off/etc.

Some weird combination of settings here caused heavy lag as well, and I have a top of the line computer.

I forgot the specific settings though, and the simulator isn't straining my computer much on the default settings...

It's a flight simulator geared for realistic physics... you expect a lower-end computer to handle that?

Heh... it's not unheard of to get motion sickness either from things like FPSes

Oddly enough, I never get motion sickness from FPS games, and I play them so often. It's always the flight sim that catches me... especially when I have to go to sleep thirty minutes after getting a headache from three hours of continuous flight.

Anyway, redownloading this thing - "setup files corrupted".

I don't see why someone would get sick from a flight sim... considering the view is usually more gentle than on most FPS games.

Well wtf are the "minimum" specs to play this thing? The website gives no info in this area.

About a high-end Pentium III (1.2~1.4 GHz)* and a decent video card (you can probably get by with a Voodoo even, but I've only used it as low as GeForce 5500).

* By the way, hertz does not necessarily give a good comparison across different kind of processors. You can have a Pentium Dual-Core 1.4 GHz that's 20 times faster than a Pentium III 1.4 GHz.

I have an Intel P4 2.8GHz, and you said a P3 ~1.2-1.4GHz, so I seem to be good in that department.
As for video card, as far as I can tell it's an "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller" (that's what dxdiag says and if there's another place to look I wouldn't know ). "Approx. Memory 96.0MB" for it too.

You have 96MB of system RAM, or are you talking about video RAM?

if you're talking about your system RAM, get more. Seriously, there's your problem right there. if you meant video RAM, then it's fine

768MB of RAM, 96MB of VidRAM.
I wouldn't be able to run WinXP with 96MB of ram, probably not even Win2k. And that's with NOTHING ELSE installed.

Windows XP's bare minimum is 64MB

Well now that's all out of the way.... I would look into what applications are running in the background. I think your Pentium 4 should be enough to run it (the CPU arch itself is a failure, but at 2.8 GHz, it should be good enough), so I'm 90% sure it's one of your resident programs.

Right now avg cpu usage is 10% (with task manager running and taking up about 3%) and I have pretty much all I had running when I tried to play it.
Commit Charge is 359M / 1492M.
I guess I'll try it again later or something, I don't remember exactly what was running when I tried to play it last time.

Edit: Alright, I tried running it again, and about 5 minutes after I hit the "run" button, it crashed (before it even finished starting up).
Here's the error it gave me (in the cmd line thing):
Unknown exception in the main loop. Aborting...
Possible cause: Domain error

So I ask, wtf?
