I think we should have an option to delete our posts, otherwise we end up with threads like this.

Also, a post shouldn't be able to be edited blank.

fortunately board2 logs all edits in an effort to fight 'edit spam' so undoubtedly the integrity of that thread will be restored shortly

yes, and then later ||board ridiculed board2 for banning someone for editing a post
then later, someone came in and had fun in their little message board
being the immature administrator that ||bass is, he edited my post to say something along the lines of "I'm gay"
and I edited it back
when the drama ended, ||bass said I would keep my ban, not because of password theft, but for editing my post back to it's original form

lol, banned for editing a post

true story

ps: never in my life was there a day i loled more

True story.
While he was (as we judged) obviously aware that the IRC bot spammed with edit announcements. It got very annoying as well.

And please, no further derailment of this thread.

I figure preventing posts being edited blank, plus a functionality to check post history as well for users. Edit history is saved in the database, but isn't viewable normally.

Post history shouldn't be viewable by normal users anyway, heh.

It would be nice if we could view post history for our own posts, though.

Yep, that was me. And to this day I'm still amazed at how I managed to get banned for editing my post a bunch of times. "Edit spam". That phrase is now copyrighted by Fox Media Group.

I made history folks. I made history. The user who got THEE most frivolous ban of all time.

Also, stag, that never happened.

Also also, you should be able to close a thread if you made it. I really don't know why you can't.

Aborting a post would be deleting it before it's finished. This is full-on post murder.

I think that being able to close your own thread is a good idea. This way, if your debate thread turns into a big flame war, you can close it instead of waiting for a mod to come (which may take a while in some cases).

By the way, a post is not human, it's a post, but its content was made by a human though not human.

I know the point of the internet. That situation is just for those who don't like flame wars.

Why would someone think that just because they started a thread, they have any ownership over it?
