Ok, could please anyone give me any advice on how to rip genesis gfx in a format that can be read from YY-CHR or similar? I can't find a clue anywhere, and I'm stuck with glitched graphics, whichever format I input in YY-CHR (the Genesis one, as well as the others, don't create anything usable...)

4bpp MSX[/genesis]
That should convert it to genesis format. |

For sake of precision, this is what I did:
- savestated into Gens 32 (thus having a .gs0 file) - imported into "Gsavestate", a tool I downloaded from Romhacking, which gave me a .bin file - but that file, once imported into yy-chr, even with the "4bpp msx/genesis", is not visible. (i mean, only HEAVILY garbled graphics, with every setting.) ____________________ °O° The Refresh button won't change your life. °O° |

My only suggestion is to rip the graphics by taking screen shots instead. |

You can use paint to copy & paste the graphics to YY-CHR. Most of the time the colors will come out correctly if you have the correct palette loaded in YY-CHR. ____________________  |

does it accept the .bmp format, or shall I save it to something else?

thx, actually the copy-paste method worked, I only have to twaek manually the palette... and found out that Gsavestate actually already extracted each single pattern of the savestate in wonderful 16x16 .bmp tiles...... oh I'm in love... ____________________ °O° The Refresh button won't change your life. °O° |
