Actually, knowing a language doesn't matter,

Rather, knowing the paradigms the language implements,

For instance, I was able to write a simcity style engine in Java after less than a day of looking into Java.

Thus, does he know imperative and object oriented programming? As the language syntax and semantics can be taught relatively easily.

Also, I said yes.
