This spread around the internet like wildfire, everyone was going crazy about it. I, of course, responded with a maliciously aimed MySpace bulletin titled "LOL HEATH LEDGER IS DEAD".

Frankly, it's what he gets for taking 134 minutes of my life away with Brokeback Mountain.

Stop the flaming or at least be more creative at it than kindergarten yard rascals. Otherwise, I'll feel bound to close the thread and recommend administrative action to be taken.

As far as the topic is concerned, I heard about it from my English teacher mentioning it casually during class. The name rung a small bell, but I didn't (and still don't) think of it as anything to pay any mind to (except perhaps for further backing up the hypothesis that show business kills).

It'd, of course, be better if you didn't flame at all.

Concerning "respect for the dead", I always thought of paying mind to famous/well-known people dying as kind of unfair to all the others whose deaths pass unnoticed.

Yeah.... well quite a few people die every day. I remember when they did 9/11 remembrance ceremonies it took ages just to go through the names of the people that died, and they didn't dwell on any of them for more than a second or two. It would take forever to go through a single day's obituary list.
