There's Sonic on the OW, and a new boarder. Yes, the OW will change.

Player 1 sonic

Player 2 sonic

I know, not much. I really want people's opinions. I didn't make sonic, my friend Kyoseron from SMWC made it for me.

The Sonic looks good, but it's "redrawn"-style graphics don't fit with the SMW graphics. Also, the blue square around Sonic on the OW is wrong. I like the coins from Sonic though.

I have no idea how to fix that box without screwing up the other colors. Anyone know how?

It doesn't look "redrawn" because of the lack of outlines.

Also, the rings look off, maybe because they don't look as shiny as the original rings?

Ok, I applied the 1 Player patch, so there is only one Sonic, I thought it would be weird with 2 of them.
Yeah, I need to know how to get rid of that blue without screwing up anything else.

You fix the blue around the OW Sonic by changing the colors for the OW border. It's not really a "fix" per-se, but it's a decent workaround. The colors for the OW border are in Palettes 0 and 1 on the right half. Change anything that looks beige to dark beige in order to make sure you hit all the border values.

Why don't you use Smallhackers "Seperate Luigi" patch and make Shadow as the second character?

That patch is incompatible with addmusic, and I'd assume that this hack features addmusic-added Sonic music.

Yes Boing, it will infact use Sonic Music. One is made by Kyoseron, one by me, and the rest by the crew at SMWC (the usual ones who make the music.)

It looks great so far, Del. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. Maybe a custom sprite could be added in that follows the player and looks like Tails?

So what about it did you make?

On another note, why are there so many hacks based around the notion of "I take [x] from game [y] and put it into SMW" lately?

If you want this to become worth your own and potential player' time, at least make something distinct and noteworthy like modifying SMW's physics to be more Sonic-like (yes, I know that will require you to do extensive tracing and assembly grinding).

Just an idea here - maybe you could turn your item box in the status bar into the item monitors from Sonic? Or maybe turn your [?] blocks into the monitors?

You clearly have no clue whatsoever about how games work.

I already have GFX for the item box.

Hey now - I had assumed (maybe wrongly?) that the item box was an editable 2bpp graphic in one of the game's GFX files.

And it's not like I am saying it could be exactly like the Sonic monitors (flickering and everything), but you could make a pretty close approximation, maybe even with a glassy sheen. What inspired me, actually, was Delmaru's current item box, because it is very similar.

If this is difficult/impossible to do, I apologize. What you already have is totally cool. It was just a suggestion. I hope I didn't offend anyone too much.

Del - if you need any help from me at any point in your project, I would be happy to do what I can. Don't hesitate to ask.

Yeah, I made the level.
About taking a character from a game, I have no idea who started that, but I thought of this, not thinking of others.
Yeah, I am modifying physics.
Does Sonic jump higher than Mario?

You won't be able to reproduce Sonic's physics just from superficial, "subjective impression" measures like "jumps higher". I suggest you start up a Sonic game and, at the very least, take samples of values like per-frame acceleration, amount and type of the player input responsibility, air (if any) and ground friction etc.; ideally, at least partial tracing of RAM values and, ideally, related assembly code in a sonic game should occur.

I know, I'm working on the physics now. I'm not going to be able to do the OW easy, just 'cause I suck at it. I should have new screens in the next 2 days.
