TinaSitter should not appear at all if there's a fullscreen window. I tried to detect such a situation by comparing the window rect with the screen dimensions. However, this also detected the Desktop as being fullscreen (which is actually true), while she should then sit on the Taskbar. This also didn't work for fullscreen games like Doom Legacy.

Any better methods?

It can't detect the name of the process that it's sitting on? It probably would identify the desktop as explorer.exe then.

Another way would be checking for the screen resolution and bit depth now and then, but that wouldn't help of course if the fullscreen application doesn't change any of that. :/

That's actually a really good idea.

You'd expect the Screen object's Width and Height properties to change, but it seems they don't >>

Can you check the status of the title bar's buttons? "Maximize" changes to "Restore" when an application is maximized...

Only problem with sitting on the taskbar :\ I'd recommend sitting at the bottom/right of the screen instead if the taskbar is in any position but "down".

Odd. I thought that the double top check would catch that. Didn't wanna lose my icon order so I didn't try it out

Protip: I fyou have icons at the botom of the screen, just move them to where the start menu won't hit them when it repositions.

They don't change if they don't have to

Figured it out on the loo today.

If we know it's maximised, check the window style to see if WS_CAPTION is set. No maximised window in Fullscreen mode has a title. I should know from writing Kafé.
