We can't lock the ROM from the editor? How would we go about locking ROMs, then?

Just curious.

I thought it was another program that locked it.

It would be better to incorporate it within the editor...

Nah, there is not locking feature available to the public. A good point was made that as long as the author stamp cannot be altered, then the locking feature isnt really necessary.

The reason the feature even exists is so that when me and Giangurgolo release a hack, we can leave the password as an easter egg in the game for people to find.

The rom stamp was designed around the idea that yes people will be able to modify their roms however they want, and locking requires absolutes. You cant have some roms that are locked, and some that arent while having a tamper proof system, but you can with author stamps.

If people really want to remove the stamps, they can with a hex editor, however Everyone will know that its been screwed with when they open it in lazy shell.

Can Mario use Monsters spells and attacks.

Not using Lazy Shell, but it could probably be done with an assembly hack without too much difficulty.

Im working on the Events editor, but its going slowly. Its tedious to program and not interesting at all. Also between midterms and me getting sick not much has happened as of late.

The editor probably needs another 20-30 hours work.

All I can say is take your time because it will be event more smexy.
This will be the next Lunar magic

Don't start every word with a capital letter please. That makes your text hard to read... and most people just skip it.

I figure it's good if a clear amount of things that are worth doing but can't be pulled off with the editor alone (instead requiring assembly or whatever) remains; that way, hacking the game becomes more attractive for people who are beyond the point-and-click editing capability level and want a challenge while not being too limited by tedium in any creative efforts regarding it.

GRUNK: It's all out there. Wikipedia, Google. And yeah, what Ailure said...

Hey, I have a question.

Lets say we are putting in golden sun characters. It'd look stupid if they used attacks like "Jump"
So that brings me to my point:Can we make our own attack animations?

You can change everything about the attack except the animation.

Is it possible to swap it with another animation at least?

The Stamp feature seems cool. Like Troopa said, take your time. Even though everyone wants this, rushed work always isn't good.

So, what's left to do before the release? Or is it all just bugfixing?

The battle scripts are finished. The event scripts are the next obstacle to completion. There have been updates to the gui for the sprite editor which accomodate for editing the dialogue font graphics, window frame graphics, and the world map points.

Also there are screenshots here and the program's help topics are online if you want to look at those too. Everything that you can modify with the program (in the stats and level portions only so far) is explained there.
