Right... You can't trust everyone to test something out, pretty risky if you want it kept secret. All I can do is just throw in suggestions, but I doubt that is necessary if this program is going to open source. Still, they want it to the fullest and best it can be without having to check back for bugs and stuff.

Man, ive been outta it for a while now! Life just seems to creep up on you, and now with finals its a bit much. I haven't read the backlog of posts, i am going to do that after my last exam. I'm really looking forward to finishing the hack and releasing Lazy Shell in the next couple weeks.

Good news is that we haven't found any bugs in a while. I'm sure there are still a few but its pretty solid. If memory serves I just need to finish the IPS patcher that's built into the Patch Server and we will probably want to comb through the source before the community gets a look at it.

So, if anyone has a feature (not previously mentioned) that they would like to see, last chance before V1.0.0. The random level generator wont be making it into the release version as of now, but I find the idea very interesting and still want to give it a shot.

I remember the idea about group hack coherency and file servers that went on a while back. Don't think were going to bother with that. Its an interesting idea but hardly worth the effort. If a group does get together and want this, they can contact us independently.

Its good to be back.

Superb! I don't have any feature suggestions, though.
Keep up the good work.

Are virtually all the "smaller" graphics located and editable, like the shop backgrounds and other graphics some might overlook? Just to simplify the process, of course :/

I don't care much for whatever is in included, because, straight-forth, everything that should be able to be modified for a full hack seems to be such. My brother and I can't wait for release

What about adding a feature where we can give Mario and all of the other party member enemy's magic spells.

Sorry if this has been asked before but will the editor let you create new spells and new animations for these spells?

If not, I'd like to request that.

Welcome back, Omega! I know how you feel, Omega. I'm swamped with work and haven't been able to work on much of my hobbies, either. Still psyched about Lazy Shell!

P.S. I'm even more psyched about you actually finishing your Lazy Shell editor. Because now (I assume and hope), you'd have enough time to get around to your Zelda3 hack.

I would like to request a way of setting a different character as the main battle member instead of mario. Like Mallow or Bowser or Peach, Or Geno. It would help make some of the hacks feel a bit unique, and allow for different skill sets if someone ever made a custom main character.

Thanks,
Dj Weegie~

I'm pretty sure all you would need to do is swap out the Mario sprite animations with another character's (say Geno's.) That should work just fine in most circumstances; although you would obviously be missing a lot of custom animations that only Mario has.

Still, it's possible.

Also, it would be hard to find frames for Mario's animation that others may not have. It would be more convenient to instead, if possible, give an animation ID to certain characters. It could also be easier that way to find an animation sequence that'd be easy to port or create custom characters for: maybe have a majority characters use one kind of animation (like only Geno's), as that may work best for, say, graphics from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, or something like that.

Fuck Yes. Lazy Shell is almost out. The only reason i registered was to post here. Ive been watching this project for a while, and it seems amazing. Cant wait to fuck around with it . Im from the smwc forum, so yeah. This seems like an amazing editor, and ive been so syched for it for the longest time. I love the hack your making too, "Thwomp says go fuck self" xD. I probably wont play it for a while because ill be too immersed in the editor. Oh, and hey sag.

Question: Why is the programed named "Lazy Shell" when the screenshots tell of an in-program name as "Super Modify RPG"?

Question: giangurgolo's website claimed the editor hasn't been released due to:
Posted by http://giangurgolo.home.att.net/smrpg/
There is currently no public release of the editor since the accompanying hack has not been completed. The application will come out when the hack is finished.

This means that the corresponding hack needs to be finished for the editor to be released, does it not? And details on the length of the hack were never released, or it may have been, I didn't read every post for the last twenty pages or so.

Clarification is being asked of you. Your response?

The original name was "Super Modify RPG" when we were creating it. It was really just a place holder name until we decided on "Lazy Shell" as the final name. Here's an image of what it looks like now.

Similarly, in that image you can see the Hack database download utility titled "HACKS...". The default server that we host has since been named "Cirrus" (a type of cloud similar to Nimbus for those wondering), but that name isnt reflected yet in the editor, mainly cause were lazy and haven't changed it yet.

We wanted to have a hack that demonstrates the editors ability to accompany the release of Lazy Shell. The hack will probably be 30-60min in length depending on how deep you dig. Its not supposed to be a full length hack, but it should be fun. It will be available to download on Cirrus for release.

Aha. Thank you for clarifying.

1: What do you think about a Boss Rush hack? I've been planning out a few details last night, since I don't get much sleep, which is my problem, and would most likely have more use than my idea of: "Fight Culex out of nowhere" hack.

2: So, About an hour, huh? The map(s) created in the "Lazy Shell Hack in Progress" youtube video, will also be in the hack as well?

3: And where will you first release the program? I would like to get a head start on one of the hacks I've had, and I've read over your tutorial, but I haven't found KP9000's tutorial.

Thanks.

My tutorial is buried about a 100 posts deep.

I know I've been MIA for a while, but I'd like to continue on with making more guides. Since I haven't been making any SMRPG hacks lately, I don't know what all is needed as far as guides go, so I thought I'd throw it all out to the userbase to request them. They may or may not be worked on, and I'll work on them with my own discretion. I'd also need an update to the binary I have, I'd guess that by now it's pretty outdated. Who wants guides for an extremely outdated version?

Edit: Renamed the thread. It's been unveiled for quite some time lately.

Start Digging. The general idea is the same, but I don't have an up-to-date version, so it may be obsolete by now...

Do you mean 100 posts into THIS topic, or another topic?

Edit: I can't believe I forgot the "?"
