I saw in another thread that there was an editthread.php, but I tried inputting it into the address box and it gave me a 404 error telling me that it didn't exist. So, I have a feature request. How about allowing users to edit their own thread title and icon?

If this feature was well-used, it could be used to create a certain undesirable amount of confusion; imagine you enter a forum after a night's rest and have to sort out which thread was which yesterday.
Having to ask a moderator to do it serves, at the same time, as a bit of a "required effort barrier" keeping the unserious/unnecessary requests down.

Besides, if you had read the thread more thoroughly, you would have seen that thread editing functionality for staff was integrated into the existing thread.php, so a separate editthread.php became superfluous.

And you rarely need to rename a thread anyway. Something along of daily renaming a thread simply just get's annoying, and if you have some info that needs to be changed now and then... then you just keep it in the first post.
