The title explains it all...

I was fooling around one day, and remembered that if you go above 999 lines in Tetris, it goes to A00 (random, huh). So, I decided to input that number into the forum number box. It cut off the zeroes and brought me here. :O

By that I mean this specific forum.

It amazes me that someone from a romhacking message board thinks it's random to go to A after 9.

The next hexadecimal number would be 99A though.

(Of course, it's apparent that that game uses a num%10, (num-(num%10))/10 %10, num-((num-(num%10))/10 %10) /10 system for displaying the line count)

Mario Bros also uses BCD.

Probably because it's easier to print a number to the screen if it's stored internally BCD. It also made it possible to hack the game to visit levels like 1A or 5F. As far I can tell, there wasn't really anything special with those levels...

I meant that it's a random fact I know about a lot of things.

Also, just try putting in A00 as the forum ID. Any forum ID starting with a letter goes to this forum.

You're right. That was very apparent.

I tried a path disclosure exploit, which led to the ID value being ignored.

?id[]=20
is what I appended.

But... nice place you have here!
