I'm using it right now. I actually use it primarily for browsing now, seeing how much smoother it is.

I used nightly testing tools to activate one of my extensions. The rest that doesn't work, is ones I don't care too much about anyway.

Yeah, me too. I love the new address bar history thing, it looks nicer, and finds things faster.

Nightly testing tools has caused me nothing but trouble, when I have incompatible extensions running it throws a head fit.

I had given an early beta a shot, and found it to be much more of a memory whore than Firefox 2 even... also tried installing the new V3 beta on my Lunix box tonight, but I was missing some libraries and didn't feel like grinding repositories for dependencies.

The most important extensions for me are the web developer toolbar and DownThemAll... as far as the others are concerned, I can live without them, at least for a while. Well, maybe I would miss AnEC as well...

Becoming reliant on extensions is stupid. =[

Why so?

Back when functions like that were built into browsers, everybody said building them in was stupid.

No, I mean like, when you get an extension because it looks interesting, and you end up relying on something it does because you don't want to click 3 more times than you would have without it, and end up using 10mb of ram just because it's installed.

Extensions like that are pointless, why sacrifice that much RAM for about two seconds?

Also, being forced to use more clicks would result in actual thought instead of just a click, which is good.

The whole point of Firefox is that it has little built-in so you can customize it however you want via extensions.

I'm just saying. F3B3 is a lot better at managing memory than Firefox 2.

Then that makes it easier to use extensions, doesn't it?

Yeah. But most people aren't using beta 3 right now.

...and aren't writing extensions for it, on that matter.

Well, I still hold kind of a grudge against FF3 because of the developers' decision to not include SVG+SMIL animation into it...

SVG loads here for me. In Mozilla Firefox 3 beta 3.

I wonder if they decided to reimplement it at some point.

Not SVG itself. SVG+SMIL animation, which was designated a low priority and said to "not make it into firefox 3"[citation needed?]

Seems like they aren't counting it out totally, just waiting for a better time to implement it.

SVG isn't mainly used on the web yet, though I hope that will change. Wikipedia uses SVG alot, though it's rendered serverside as PNG in the articles.

On a side note, it appears that ArBeWhat is screwing with the pink text CSS to make it gray.

Let's hope he doesn't do that with all text CSS...

Yes, he really, really does. That's right folks, if you post on the same page of a thread as me, and you have a pink name, it goes grey. D:
