w00t! (Yeah, I know it's so 2002) I've already sent my first PM, to get my username changed. Now I'm Kernal instead of Eyeball Eaters (which was really dumb).

You know that "kernal" is a generally discouraged and altogether incorrect when applied to the OS component spelling of the word though?

blackhole89: who cares? That's like saying Acmlm is a misspelling of "Acclaim". No one said it was to be applied to the OS meaning fo rthe word anyway...

Great to see PM's are back. That didn't take as long as I thought it would. The board is really coming along nicely now. Great job to everyone who is working on it.

PM yourself.

Anyway, good to see PMs are working. Now, the Mafia game can finally start running again.

You sure we can even DO that? But I'm trying to give up talking to myself. It's hard as heck to stop it, too.

Kernal was the spelling used by Commodore for its 8-bit computers (Vic-20, 64, 128, etc.). Yes, someone at Commodore got it wrong.

Wow, I didn't know that about the word kernal... So Microsoft copied this typo all the way into Windows ME? (kernal, kernal32, etc)

Well, not that it's a big deal, but when I was naming my Marble Madness clone idea, I called it Roboll, because when I was working on the soundtrack, and I saved, I meant to name it "Roball", but I typo'd it and didn't notice until later. Then I just liked the uniqueness of the name, so I kept it.

Typos are the way of the future, just as long as it's not a z replacing an s.

As far as I know, it always said "kernel", "kernel32" etc., which is the correct spelling.
